Revelation 2:8-11 test your church

Verse 8. And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;

This is non other than Jesus Himself telling John to write these things that I am about to tell the church of Smyrna.

Verse 9. I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

The church of Smyrna is one that you you want to look at very closely it is one of 2 out of all the churches that God finds no fault with. Not perfect none of us are. What is it that they know that God is so pleased with? The blasphemy of them which say they are Jews but do lie and are of the synagogue of Satan. Does your church anything close to this? These Kenites which are of the synagogue of Satan have caused our brother Judah a great deal of trouble. They were let in back in 1st Chronicles. The scribes, the priests, they got lazy and took in the Kenites to do manual labor cut wood ect. Then they started turning over there Priestly duties until they became the scribes. They were in the church while Jesus was here on earth and they are still here today .

John 8:42-45. The Children of the Devil. 42Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. 43Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. 44Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 45And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. 46Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? 47He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. Not my words but Gods.

This is why as a student of Gods word you have to be very careful because they have changed a few things. Lets take a little bible quiz. Who was the first murder from the beginning? Cane. In the Hebrew Kenites. This is coming from a church Christ approved of so does you church teach this? Why is it that so many churches don't teach this. Paul gave us the answer in 2nd Corinthians 11:11-15 They have ministers of Satan that have transformed into ministers of light but still speak the lies of Satan. You don't have to understand Revelation, Danial, the minor prophets; Why? You are going to be gone Jesus is coming to fly you away. If you are lucky you get the milk of the word but that is not going to cut it you need the meat of the word.

Revelation 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life

Scary verse; you mean I may have to go to prison, I am going to have tribulation for 10 days, I have to be faithful of 10 days unto death. I have to do all that to get the crown of life? Luke 21 Jesus explaining this very thing to the disciples and us tell us that during this time we shall face Satan; Who is Satan? Death. How long will we be in prison 10 days. Luke 21:18 Remember this is Jesus speaking. “But there shall not a hair of your head parish” We need to be gig boys and girls men and woman put on our big boy paints put on our armor and get ready for battle. We have nothing to fear; look at the end of the book WE WIN. And then I will give you a crown of life.

Verse 11.He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

Do you have an ear to hear? Is your church teaching you this? If not why not, and better yet if they are not teaching it why don't you ask them to. If they give you some excuse you better ask God am in the right place, do you want me here, is there someone I need to reach or should I go else where. That is between you and God. I am not going to tell you where to go to church or where to get fed. Again between you and God.

All the churches i have tested have failed big time!. None was qualified and all twisted the words of God. But i am still looking....you guys here on this site are the closest thing to a church that i know.

I like you have tested many churches where I live and they fail. I was getting ready to ask some of the people just where they get there teaching, Some have said that the last generation was John's because that was when the revelation was written, we don't live under any of the law anymore including the 10 commandments, I have to assume they thank guy marriage, the guy lifestyle etc. is ok. Your post gives me some hope there are still a few sane people out there.

Have you ever considered your standard might be at fault and one of the churches you tested correct?

All those who remain apart from faith in God coming to be in Christ with repentance are of the devil as their father, because they won't have God.

My standard is the bible itself, all the churches I have investigated have failed. I am contented with the bible, its just that i have no one except this site to talk to about religion and God. This site is the closest thing to a church i know.

Do you believe there are those who are/or will be 'chosen' for the 10 day trial or do you believe it will be random Christians?

I am going to continue the bible study of the 7 churches for you and others that want the truth. In saying that I don't want you to take my word for things; I want you to check them out and make sure they line up with the word. If you don't have a good Strong's Concordance I suggest you get one. Biblehub.com King James with the Strong's is a good rescores. Things in the Hebrew and Greek can mean different things than English.

No my standards follow the bible of the 7 churches you will find out that only 2 cut it with God. I am doing this study in hopes God will open some eyes and ears.

I am not a teacher. I of my self like the Berains in Acts they heard the teaching of Paul then went home and studied the scriptures(old testament) to see if they were so. Timmithy said study to show thy self approved by God a workman rightly dividing the word of God. Jesus said do not hide your light under a basket but let it shine. When we study Gods word and learn something we are not to keep it for ourselves we are to give it away. My view on things will be different than most but if you want to come and reason together show me from the bible not church or mans traditions and doctrines I am open.

The seven churches were real churches that Jesus addressed and are lone gone,
They do not represent churches down through the ages.
What we see in those churches is present in some churches today, both the good and the bad.
We are instructed to study and learn. It is our responsibility. But we are also told to assemble face to face with others. To do so is for our benefit. It can help us to know if we are right or wrong. I can help us to maybe rethink and restudy to know for sure.
Satan is the great deceiver. We can all be deceived. When we isolate ourselves from others in our study we are inviting that deceiving.
It is impossible to find a local church that is without error. After all it is made up of men that still live in the sinful flesh.
But we should try to find a local church to fellowship with, study with, learn with. Just maybe we may be able to teach them.

First of all i would like to say that these letters are from the Lord himself, for correction, reproof, a warning.
I would say that many study the letters of paul and others more than from these letters from Jesus himself.
If anyone is looking for the perfect church and finds it please dont join it you'll ruin it.
Fellowship with the saints is necessary for growth spiritually.
We are the church. If one finds fault in the body of Christ we are instructed to bring it to the attention of the elders.
But also be subject to correction of ourselves. Speak out to understand and to be understood.
God does not call the able but enables those that are called. He resist the proud and exhorts the humble.
We are to love the saints not judge them. I for one would not want to stand accused of gossiping about the bride of Christ nor stand silent knowing of errors.
If any church, fellowship, saint refuse good counsel that has been bath in prayer and presented as instructed and is scriptural then you have done your duty as a priest and fellow servant.

I see revelation from a more conservative view than most of you. I am more of a traditionalist than a revisionist, I try to use commentaries and material before the 1850.2 because of the change in teaching which started in the 1830s. Om addition after the reformation the war between Catholics and protestants caused both sides to come up with theories to go with theory political ideology. I see revelation fulfilled by the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70. The destruction of the temple the abomination of desolation occurring then with the sacrifice in the temple. However, I and Christians for 1500 years could be wrong and the new liberal view of a future event is possible. In either case after we are dead we will find out, but I don't think then we will much care, God Bless

And I apologize if I came across as rude, that was not my intent. It's just that a lot of people come here thinking they know everything and have nothing left to learn, so they don't even listen or try to understand what others say.

I'm a firm believer that truth is only available to those who are willing to question what they think they know.

Your view is not conservative nor traditionalist, it is contrary to Scripture.
Might want to put the commentaries down and prayerfully study the Scripture.
