In this moment, I am feeling more confidence in my own salvation.

I have had struggles with assurance of salvation. Honestly struggles which has go on for years. The first sign of doubt seemed to show even as a young child.

I have had moments of rejoicing feeling confident in salvation after reading from Scripture. Then doubts would come in . Sometimes subtle and sly with questioning and other times loud with accusations of hell. I understand feelings are not a reliable indicator in this situation.

Some things that come to mind.

God is not the author of confusion
( see 1 Corinthians 14:33)

I can depend on the love God has for me.

God is my light and my salvation
( Psalm 27:1)
This verse along with Isaiah 42:16 has been great encouragement in seeking assurance. I needed and need God to be both my light and my salvation. I need his light lest I become confused, or lose my way and be led astray. His light shows what is salvation and the way to be saved. God's love as well is an anchor for the soul.

In John 14:4-6 it says:

"And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

https://bible.com/bible/1/jhn.14.4-6.KJV

Jesus is the way. Salvation in Christ is not something overly complicated formula that you have to figure out to see if you got it just right.

Paul says in Galatians 3:26

"For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus."

Faith cannot exsist without doubt. Paul instructs us to examine ourselves perhaps this is whats going on with you as with me also.
The serpent always ask "has God said" . Why yes he did say and has done.
Even when our faith is lacking and wavering its the faith of Christ Jesus that hold on.
For we cannot be plucked out of his hand.

Faith cannot exsist without doubt.
I think it depends on what Faith your speaking of -------in the world Doubt can keep you safe at times --

You have Faith that you can cross a dangerous road but if you see a car coming you doubt that you can make it across before the car can hit you -----so your doubt could have saved your life as you decide to wait till the car passes-----your doubt kept you from taking a risky chance -----

Bible Doubt is different -----Doubt comes from Satan not God --------------- Doubting God and His word squashes your Faith and trust in God and His word ------ Doubt excludes God ------you can't have true Faith and doubt at the same time -----your either in Faith or your in doubt about your Salvation ------wavering Faith means your a double minded person and will cave in when the storms of Life come your way ------

James 1 NIV ----Note verses 5-6-and NOTE VERSES 7 and 8 especially

Trials and Temptations
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.

8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

I say ----
Eve doubted God when He said they would die if they ate from that certain tree ----Satan was the one who made her doubt God's word -----doubt put her in sin -----it didn't increase her faith in God or His word ---

Jesus Christ sympathizes with our weaknesses. Therefore let us come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:15-16

Jesus is the way. Salvation in Christ is not something overly complicated formula that you have to figure out to see if you got it just right.

Paul says in Galatians 3:26

"For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus."
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

there’s a lot of assurance in hearing what Jesus said and believing

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭

“In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)”
‭‭John‬ ‭7:37-39‬ ‭KJV‬‬

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:37-40‬ ‭KJV‬‬

accepting Jesus word is Gods assurance to us if we let it into our hearts it becomes written there and becomes a concrete foundation as we learn and move by his word embracing his truth and freedom

Jesus words have been a great assurance as well as his actions to me. I believe we certainly can build each other up as well. I know I have been built up listening to other believers. John 6:37 has been a go to verse for me before. I love it.

amen I agree completely there’s a lot of assurance and then at times we’re needing to learn different aspects and not forget the assurance we have accepted so we can learn from Jesus without fear of condemnation and come close and begin to repent, not from fear but from just hearing his word

there’s different times we need to hear assurance , orher times we need to hear instruction , warning , more about the father , more about ourselves ect until we come to learn righteousness by faith d how nite progressively bringing us out of our old life of sin and into our new life eternal

the gospel has all we need but amen the first thing is to understand we’re safe in Jesus he’s not looking to throw us away for mistakes but he’s also calling us to a. Better life into better freedom and better ways

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭1:16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

and amen also yes we can really help each other up when we’re weak and bear each other’s burdens and help one another understand and grow in Christ somwe become stronger In faith always knowing Jesus loves us and came so we don’t need to be afraid even of death

As it is written, blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed? And unto what were you baptized?

Faith in Jesus Christ is evidence that you are eternally saved, but it is not the cause of your eternal salvation. The cause of you being saved eternally is that Jesus died to remit the sins of all those that the Father gave him, and your faith in Christ is evidence that you are one of those that he died for.

Faith in Jesus and what He did for us on the cross is the cause of our Salvation.

I cannot allow you to use this as an opportunity to sneak your filthy false doctrine of Calvinism in under the table.

Hebrews 11:6
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

The cause of you being saved eternally is that Jesus died to remit the sins of all those that the Father gave him, and your faith in Christ is evidence that you are one of those that he died for.
The cause of Salvation is that we accept the above and believe it to the saving of our souls.

You have faith that you are saved because you are saved because... ???? You are saved because you are saved...

Maybe nobody is saved? Maybe everyone is saved? Let's roll dice or something. (Just don't let personal choice into the equation!)

I was baptized in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. I believe the Holy Spirit is in me. It is more something I take by faith in what the Scriptures say though I did have an experience back in 2012 that seemed to be of God.

I recently found what Jesus said in Luke 10:21 encouraging.

In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.
Luke 10:21 ESV

https://bible.com/bible/59/luk.10.21.ESV

It was encouraging in that I have had the feeling of making sure I have things figured out in a way that was coming out from fear based thinking. This word gave comfort that I don't need to worry and that God is my teacher and can reveal what I need to know.

Paul didn't seem to sympathize with that perspective. What I see, if what you're saying is true, then we don't need to preach the gospel or believe in it since God already has His elect picked out. There is nothing we can do to stop God's plans, so why not leave all of the work to Him?

Paul said this:

Romans 10:14-17
14How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

If someone doesn't hear about the gospel from a person, there may be little chance they'll ever hear about it. While it's possible God can do the preaching Himself or send an angel (a more likely possibility) there's no predicting what God's plan is outside of the written word.
