So, what would be the male equivalent of the "old cat lady"...
I don't know what issues old cat ladies have or why they find cats a substitute for marraige, but if a man is lonely I would suggest first of all that he be involved in a good church and be volunteer for all sorts of ministry and service. That will get him around friends that will be life long friends and he won't feel so lonely.
And then of course one of those friends might become more than a friend in time.

Just sitting around with no goals or purpose won't get fixed by getting married.

Stay busy doing something noble. Serve the Lord in ministry. Advance the Kingdom of God. Be found busy spreading the Gospel when Jesus comes. These are the things that make a man a man. Then if you still want one, ask God for a wife and pursue one. Not by dating but by ministry works together. Find a lady who is winning souls and help her.

That is an easy fix. Control the thought life.
That seems fair. Did you go through any kind of Transformation where you learned to control your thought-life? If so, what were the mechanics of how it all "worked"? In other words, can you describe a "before" and an "after"?

There are short term volunteer missions teams that go build churches or houses for pastors in 3rd world countries. They go in teams, 10 days each group. They organize the different skilled labor to come and do their part before the next team comes. Women go with these groups. You will meet here there. Good luck.

I'd love to meet a woman who can read a tape measure and handle a skillsaw
I dropped home economics in high school because I was bored with the class and wasn't learning anything new and took wood working instead. Built a small book stand, round table with formica on the table top and made a piece of wood art.

When my daughter needed a youth bed I built her one and used her crib mattress. That little bed was strong enough to hold both of us even though I had to bend my legs to lay on it with her. Sometimes the building and demo work of remodeling is more fun than being stuck in a kitchen or doing laundry even though I do that also.

Love Jesus with all your mind... Don't look at them in any kind of way you wouldn't look at your sister or mother... things like that.. until they become a habit.

You become strong in areas you were once weak and are not subject to "slipping" after you have trained yourself. It is just like every other area of sanctification. Each victory builds on itself to become a momentum and soon you are strong when once you were weak. Your first thoughts become the holy ones and your members obey righteousness because you train your body and eyes and mind keep it under subjection which becomes the normal for you after training.

There is no other path than the path through the wilderness with Jesus being tried by the devil and saying no to sin and saying "It is Written" do that and the devil will leave you and you will be filled with the Spirit and be strong in the Lord and the power of His Might.

Certainly praying to be filled with the Spirit and to operate in the Spirit and not the flesh is part of it, but after praying and believing you have to face the trials and win one victory at a time and then you will be transformed. There is no shortcut. Total surrender to the will of God and suffering in the flesh to cease from sin is the initial path but it is also the life long path, howbeit you do not always suffer the same temptations as you can become strong in one area and graduate to new and different battles in other areas that you did not know were even something you were supposed to address until the Lord brings it up one day. Those future battles are for those who have been granted access to the deeper things of God. One class at a time. Keep learning, keep growing, keep overcoming.

I love it when people work for the Lord, however, if all the guys just worked for the Lord then eventually there would be no one to work for the Lord. Kind of like the Shaker folks dying out because the men and women stayed in separate housing with no contact.

I personally like the Lords plan better - be fruitful and multiply. All work for the Lord by letting your light shine and not hiding it under a bushel. Or together being the salt that brings flavor to the world as a team.

I'm too old to get on a ladder now and feel stable...have a hard time breathing, but today I installed a towel hook by the shower didn't require much just two screws and a Phillips screwdriver. Not bad at 67.

I loved to do demo, smashing through a wall and tearing out stuff, or taking popcorn off the ceiling and redoing it felt good and looked amazing when done..... I'm afraid those days are over for me at this point but I can say I did it at one time.

I also like doing things like that. Hopefully I still have a few good years left in me.

So you want her to be ok with moving into a house under construction? You are going to need a carpenter woman. LOL
