This tells you who are GOD'S Children ...but you can't read seven verses for some reason:


1 John 3:4-10 ESV

4 Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.

5 You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.

6 No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him.

7 Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous.

8 Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.

9 No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God.

10 By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.

I think you are conflating the tree of life with the tree of knowledge of good and evil. But I have heard of that interpretation of Christ being the tree of life.

"The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise." - Proverbs 11:30 KJV

"Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God." - Phillipians 1:11 KJV

"And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst." - John 6:35 KJV

"I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." - John 6:51 KJV

"And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:" - Genesis 3:22 KJV

The fruit of the righteous are by Christ, and the fruit of the righteous is a tree of life. The tree of life in Eden is a tree of life. It is possible to use these passages to make the case for Christ being the tree of life, but it is not a necessary interpretation.

Christ being the bread of life, on the other hand, is a necessary interpretation per John 6:35.

John 3:16

The Bread of LIFE is The Word ...The Sword guarding The Way to the Tree of LIFE. The Knowledge of The Word.

Are you saved?
If so why do you focus on sin?

You can know you are Saved after you stop looking for excuses to continue doing horrific ones like drugs and sexual acts. You would be free from sin slavery at that point. You would have a Temple The HOLY SPIRIT could dwell in.

2 Thessalonians 2:11
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

If we confess, He forgives us. Now, can we keep living in sin?

Romans 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

After you have been forgiven/cleansed, you must go and sin no more:

John 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

Then stop looking in the mirror.

I’m a child of God saved by grace through faith. That’s my focus because that’s reality.

So you said the magic words ...and you're Saved now right? What are you Saved from? Are you Saved from drugs or sexual acts? no?...then question if you actually had to Join Him on The Cross to be Covered in His Blood.

At the end of Romans 7, Paul basically says that he still sins in the body despite his mind being of Christ. Paul is a great example of one that was 'born again' in Christ. The presence of sin does not necessarily make one a sinner any more than moving a chess piece makes one a chess player.

Paul was giving his testimony from before he was Saved ...chief sinner. GOD wanted what he said in The Bible for a reason ...to let double-minded people choose separation from GOD. You know what sin is ...if that is what you want ...that is what you are going to get.
