In your job, do you work for men or for Jesus? How is the quality of your work?
• Pro 18:9 -> “Whoever is slack in his work is a brother to him who destroys.”.
Many people, with an excuse that they gain little money or that their bosses don’t mind with them, work with a slack hand. They boast themselves, thinking that they are cheating their bosses, when, indeed, they are spoofing themselves:
• Pro 10:4 A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.
If they take the opportunity to increase in knowledge, friendship and well use of the resources put in their hands, they could become a good manager or boss in the future. After all:
• Ecc 9:11 -> “Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all.”.
Many people aren’t reached by the opportunity because they don’t prepare for it, but dally on vain delights:
• Pro 21:16 -> “One who wanders from the way of good sense will rest in the assembly of the dead. Whoever loves pleasure will be a poor man; he who loves wine and oil will not be rich.”.
• Pro 23:20,21 -> “Be not among drunkards or among gluttonous eaters of meat, for the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, and slumber will clothe them with rags.”.
So, follow the advices below:
• 1Pe 2:18 -> “Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust.”.
• Eph 6:5-7 -> “Bondservants, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ, not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man,”.
• Col 3:23,24 -> “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”.
And, considering that we have to glorify the Creator in everything, let’s be always fervent in spirit:
• Rom 12:11 -> “Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.”.
• Heb 6:11,12 -> “And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”.
Have a good day always trying to extract virtue where nobody else can see:
• Mat 25:26 -> “But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed?”.
• Pro 18:9 -> “Whoever is slack in his work is a brother to him who destroys.”.
