Hello everyone,
My name is Devin, I just turned 21 years old on February 10th. I am a faithful Pentecostal Christian, who doesn’t believe in focusing on tradition, but rather I like to use the term, “Take all the world and just give me Jesus.” Does this make me perfect? No, absolutely not. I’ve had some fiery trials, and I still have some things that I struggle with, but I know God will work it out. For the Bible says, “Greater is He in me than he who is in the world,” it also says, “No weapon formed against me shall prosper.” You see, God works everything out for the good of those that love the Lord.
I remember getting saved in a small room all alone at the age of 11 listening to the song “Mary Did You Know.” I truly gave my life over to Jesus. Where my life was once invaded by pornography in my innocent stages of life, the moment I got saved changed my life, and I entered into my new man. The Bible says that once you are saved you become a new creation in Christ. You have royal blood running through your veins for you are a child of the most high King! My addiction to pornography left me as soon as I allowed Jesus to enter my life. Later down life’s journey, i backslid. I went back to my old ways, the old shackles of pornography and new shackles of nicotine addition ruled my life for years. Whereas, I still struggle with some things, I realize that God has a Hedge around me. The enemy can only do what God allows him to do! Isn’t it glorious? Also, I’ve came to realize that where my fiery trial is, Jesus is there also. Just like the trying times of Meshach, Shadrack, and Abendigo, they were tossed in the fiery furnace but there stood a fourth man in the fire with them and His name was Jesus! They eventually came out of the fire without spot or blemish on their clothing, they didn’t even smell like smoke! It is without question, it is in my weaknesses that He is strong.
I mention all of this to tell you, I don’t know what you may be going through. You may have made some bad choices in the past, it may be a page in your book, but it isn’t the end. God is the author and finisher of your faith. If He is in control, you have no need to worry. Repent, turn from your sinful ways, place Him first and all things will work out for your good!
