hmm no writing recluses on CC...or nobody willing to divulge anything!

well, I dont have a gift of writing that theres a book or novel I am burning to write, but I do believe that there ought to be more funny books. Sometimes people need a bit of escapism from harsh reality..but not rich and famous escapism just gentle humour.

Not just dad jokes, they have been done to death.

The novel I am reading at the moment is Jodi Picoult 19 minutes and the scenario is a high school shooting. Heavy stuff.

I think it would be interesting to read a novel about a large family, it could be a series, not just the seven sisters trope but a genuine family thats very large and how the mum and dad cope. And each book in the series could be from a family members point of view, and how they interact with other family members.
The seven sisters saga I was immeditely put off by the novel being unrealistic in that the dad was a billionaire and adopted all the daughters from all over the world. I mean when does that ever happen?!

I think I would write a fantasy about a world where people treated others like they would treat themselves. Like if someone in a neighborhood's cat ran away, there would be a hotline alert and everyone on the block would drop what they were doing and help find it. Everyone in the world would adopt at least one orphaned child and there would be homeless shelters that would be for taking in anyone who needs a place to stay, while finding them a job.
Something like that but my favorite author irl is Agatha Christie. Her who-dun-it's are so fascinating as well as the characters. Ms Marple has to be the best sleuth along with Hercule Poirot. They are still remaking many of those novels into current versions.

I just read a Danielle Steel and it was to be honest a bit awful because she was telling the story not really showing and she kept repeating herself, plus how many times must we know how amazing her heroine is. It was about a young writer who writes mystery/crime novels under a male pseudonym and cant tell anyone that she is the writer because, in Danielle Steels universe, women dont write crime novels....or men wont buy them

Her heroine has several jerky boyfriends until she meets the 'right one' which obviously is very well off and when she does meet him Ms Steel spends the entire chapter saying how many times they make love.

I was thinking right is there gonna be a big reveal here but no (in her contract, if the publishers expose her she gets paid $10 million dollars) it never happens. Im like what.

I am waiting for the novel where its the guy writing the romance novels under a womans pseudonym and cant reveal that 'she' is actually. a 'he'.

actually the Danielle Steel novel I was reading called 'The Right Time' the heroine was an orphan, both her parents had died by the time she was 14 so she went into a convent and stayed with 26 nuns. (rather than go to boarding school)
Her dad though was wealthy and left her with a house and insurance policy so she eventually made her own living by becoming a bestselling crime novelist

Orphans are one thing but its true rich orphans are much better off than poor ones.

I finished 19 minutes by Jodi Picoult. My workmate recommend I read Jodi Picoult but I dunno, She can write a page turner with a zillion cliched characters and you dont end up liking or rooting for any of them. It was supposedly about a school shooting but she managed to turn it into a romance at the end?! Im like wot. The cop and the judge get together?!

The killer of 19'minutes was a video gamer. He first created a shoot'em up video game and then acted it out in real life, it was kind of like 'Revenge of the Nerds' crossed with 'Heathers' if you've ever seen or heard of both movies.

I dont think I would really want to write a tragic story like that. It had so much potential to explore with the school environment but in the end it just turned out to be a romance all about the single lady judge and handsome detective.

! I would go for broke, totally forget about the school shooting story, and just rewrite it as a mills and boon romance about finding love in the courtroom with the handsome cop and call it 'Not Clueless'.

I would write short stories instead of historical fiction, and the stories will focus of relationship issues (not just romance, but also other types of relationships). Aside from relationship issues, I would also like to write historical fiction but this may require me to interview people.

which era of history would you focus on?

I wonder if I recalled the 80s-90s but wrote it as if it was ancient history. For the future generation of readers. Life before the internet! gasp! We had a channel called MTV. There was no youtube. songs came on a casette tape. You had to rewind to be kind. It would be called...'wannabe'
the heroine would be a 15 year old pop singer who just wants to have fun but life takes a dramatic turn when her long lost identical test-tube surrogate twin starts impersonating her.

I actually am a paperback writer... when I published my four books, Kindle Direct Publishing didn't have a hardcover publishing option.

I don't have a published fiction book at the moment though. I've always wanted to write young adult allegorical fiction. I have a lot of fiction works in progress but hit some road blocks.

Ooo, what sort of instruction manual? For a Computer? Car? Toaster?

I love writing middle-grade books. Although right now, my works are more in the novella length, not novel length.

It's all the same to me. I like explaining things. And any instruction manual I make HAS to be better than the engrish in those little pieces of paper I get with most tech stuff I buy.
