Hello, I'm new here. I suppose that much is obvious. I guess this is where I'm supposed to describe myself a bit. I'll try to be brief. 
I was raised Catholic growing up, so I guess I've always been a Christian (I won't do the Catholic vs. Protestant debate), but I became a Protestant specifically for my first wife (I'm a widower from my first marriage, divorced from my second marriage). Early on in our marriage, she tricked me into going to a "concert" on a whim. We were young, in our twenties, so of course I said "yes" to a concert. Little did I suspect, it was not only a Christian concert at Saddleback Church, but it was a live recording of Rick Muchow's (RIP) Healing Grace album. I gave myself to Christ again that night, in a way I never knew as a Catholic. She and I were both baptized by Rick Muchow (the music pastor at the time) at Saddleback Church.
After her death, and then the failure of my second marriage, I found my way back to the Catholic church. Indeed, I actually feel more at home when I attend Mass than I have ever felt at any Protestant worship service. That said though, even though I identify today as a Catholic, I prefer to regard myself as a general Christian (what some Catholics might call a "cafeteria Catholic," picking and choosing what we prefer from canon instead of ascribing to all of it). In my heart, I believe that as believers, all of us need to focus on the Great Reward, with our eyes on the Prize. The rest of it is extracurricular, in terms of theology, as far as I'm concerned. (I hope my dad never reads this; he's a Catholic deacon)
So, that's where I stand in terms of my faith. As for me, my user name is a play on words ("psycho vet"); I'm medically retired from the military. I really do need to surround myself with good Christian friends, so I hope to make a few on here. I've always enjoyed chatrooms; in the old AOL chatroom days, it was a good way for folks in the military to keep in touch and be entertained. I've been in other chat places on the net, and there seems to be just too much evil out there anymore; I don't need that stuff in my life (though I must confess my mind does go to those dark places once in a while - we all have our vices, I suppose). Hopefully I found a good healthy place on here to make friends and the sanity factor positive; I figure the devil won't tread when Christ's followers walk (though he's quite good at tempting us away from the trail at times).
