Hello!
My name is Charm, and I have a struggle with porn addiction.
This is my confession:
I don't really remember what triggered it but since I was about 8 years old, I was curious about pornography. At school, I had two friends and they were drawing explicit drawings on paper and we were having fun making comics about pornography. One day after school, my parents saw one of the papers and I lied to them saying that it wasn't mine and somebody put it inside my backpack. Since then, my life turned around pornography, I started watching explicit content, starting masturbating myself, and having pleasure in it. I spent almost 20 years of my life being addicted to pornography, I feel like I have just wasted my time. I did it in secret and nobody ever knew. I remember having a huge teddy bear and I masturbated myself with it almost all the time. I enjoy watching perverse situations in movies which now I find disgusting. most of the time I find myself imagining some perverse scenes. I went on and off on porn sites and once or twice I even installed a VPN so I could watch it in peace. I am tired of being addicted and it is enough, I don't want to be a slave to pornography, I want to walk out of it. I want to give all of me to God. Now I am starting a new journey of healing.

If you had a porn addiction or if you had some suggestions, what did you do to heal and what steps did you take? Do you have some helpful advice for me? What are the words of God that helped you through the process?

Thanks a lot!

Caution. Adult dialogue. Viewer discretion advised.

The first thing I’m gong to do when I get to Heaven (ok, the second) is to seek out Adam. What the heck he was thinking, eating that fruit? Remember now - he was created naked, and woman likewise; and they ran around for God knows how long that way. It wasn’t until they ate from the tree that they thought it was odd to be naked, and covered up. (Please note that while it took both of them, it was the woman who initiated something we men then took the blame for. 😉). But really, Adam, man, talk about blowing’ it in Biblical proportions. If you hadn’t eaten that apple, Maxim could print pictures of women who are actually naked. And I'd be at the mall riding crowded elevators.

Oh that human body, that fallen flesh. God made it. All of it. Yeah, everything. Even that. And these. And here, there, and this little spot way under … giggle … All those wonderful nerve endings ... His design. Those organs, hormones and neural pathways, with the sole purpose of making you want to become one with another… His design. Born naked ... His design.

All of which have been screwed under satan's authority. That which was so innocent has now become so vile. And our flesh, like a leash, drags us into that villainy. But what can we do, even when it's not being tempted by satan - it's still flesh! Fallen and conditioned to sin. The only way to be truly free of it is to be done with it. But that's not a choice we're supposed to make for ourselves.

So the battle is not to try and be rid of the urges (as the Borg say, resistance is futile) but to learn how to manage them. You must have a plan. That includes confessing your failures, and asking forgiveness. When you submit to a demon yanking on your leash, you empower it over you. Confession is the way you rebuke that. In God's mind, salvation forgiveness is a once for lifetime event, and the power of sin has no effect on that. But the power of sin in the here and now is, that if you submit to an authority, you're submitted to that authority... until you rebuke it.

So bring it before God, confess what you got dirty in (again), and pray the Blood of Christ be poured out upon and within you for the cleansing it brings in both spirit and body. Pray the Holy Spirit be poured out upon you as well, filling your spirit to be stronger against the flesh. Be specific in your prayers. And confront the enemy and his minions who are going to use that flesh of yours. They're going to taunt and tease and do their best to entice you. They've built a global society around it. Be aware of that, and like the verse paraphrases, if your HBO causes you to sin then cut it off. That or your hand, but I'd try the HBO first.

Know how I treat my addiction? I come here. I told myself that when I was tempted, I would come here first, and that if 30 minutes later I was still worked up I'd go ahead. I'm still here.

God bless you for fighting the fight.

I was never addicted like you, or like many of my friends, but would watch it infrequently, perhaps monthly. The way I stopped was to keep a mental tally, like X days since I stopped. That way, as the days pass, your resolve strengthens. I’ve used this method for other things too, like not drinking alcohol, or not messaging people I know are bad for me. Having faith can only consolidate this process. Hope this helps.

The devil is always finding ways to keep us off the straight and narrow path that leads to eternal life. The biggest deception he knows that keeps us from progressing toward achieving a fulfilled spiritual growth is through the lust of the flesh. The bible confirms that no one is perfect not one, for all have fallen short of the glory of God(Rome 3:23). The devil will always tell you should just keep doing it, you're not going to heaven so you should just enjoy the pleasure you get from it. That's a lie and as long as you have the breath of life in you, it is a battle that can be won. Don't think you can do it on your own will and might because the truth is you will fall every time, but these battles can only be won by the power of God through our faith in Jesus Christ. It's not about how many times you fall, but how many times you keep getting back up and keep fighting for the kingdom of heaven and it all starts from within your heart, change your environment, change your habits, change what music you listen to, what movies you listen to. do anything and everything that you know will glorify our heavenly father, fast and pray more, and more and eventually you will begin to see a shift and transformation in you that will no longer be bound by the lust of the flesh, but will have your flesh circumcised in the heart giving you a new spirit of Christ.

Hey man, I'm sorry for your situation. I was a porn addict once now save by the strength and grace of God. My advice would be first you have to understand what a porn and masturbation addiction is. It is a bond of satan there is a evil spirit assigned to watch over you, so that you won't escape this addiction. So no matter what you do on your own it wont help, unless God helps you and don't be hard on yourself. You want to give up this habit right ? That's enough for Lord Jesus to help you. And trust me it's 100% his help that will take you out of it. All you have to do is ask and obey.

1. Before entering the battle with lust first and foremost thing you need is strength from God without that you'll fail just like i failed back then. You are not facing one but 3 enemies here. World which gives you tons of lustful content, satan who always tries to keep you in this addiction with lies and temptations, your own heart(flesh) now heart is the major problem because it will lie to you. For example when watching something on screen or when a girl passes by it will say like, this women won't tempt you she has dressed modestly don't worry look at her and the next thing you'd do is looking at her in a way you shouldn't look. So instead of going for a 1vs3 it's better to ask God to take your side. You have this frustration right ? That you can't escape from this habit go straight to lord amd cry out to him. Ask him to set you free use verses like "if the son sets you free you are really free" you'll need a handful of verses to quote whenever temptation hits. God is merciful he will definitely help you. So ask for his strength and guidance first.

2. Bible never preaches to fight lust. You can find it in numerous verses, from Joseph's incident to Paul's letter for Timothy it's always run from lust. Whenever you are presented with something that will tempt you to see porn and masturbate, avoid it. I mean you won't have porn pages open all the time right. There must be something which causes that initial push towards porn, kill that first. Cutting the sources is something that helped me a lot. Instagram pages, youtube, magazines anything that will tempt you should be avoided. Now even after cutting all sources you may get pictures or something that will come out of nowhere to tempt you. My advice would be turn away from them. Change channel, close the app, close your eyes do whatever you can to protect yourself. Because it better to close eyes than plucking it out.

3. After avoiding sources all you have will be your own thoughts. Which will also lose its imagination capacity once it lacks source. So this is the last step and hard because it won't happen over night it will take weeks or even months depending on how much you allow God to help you. You might be staying clean for a month and suddenly you may fall and watch porn or masturbate if that happens take your regret to the lord ask for his forgiveness. No matter how many times you fall if you have that geniune regression in your heart God will help you. As I said use verses I'll link some in this post. When temptations come I always recited verses many times it helped me. Don't worry, for God nothing is impossible. You'll be free very soon. God be with you brother.

1 Corinthians 10:13
2 Timothy 2:22
Psalm 101:3
1 Corinthians 6
Also read those proverbs about harlets it will tell the true nature of lust.

Don't we need to first admit our sin of violating Genesis 2:17 & be free from the knowledge of good and evil through faith in Christ's perfect sacrifice?

We wash away that sin from our soul through the blood of Jesus but physically our body is corrupted and it will be like that untill new earth.

Romans7:6:"But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held". Do you believe law refers to the knowledge of good & evil?

No law refers to law of moses. In my language Bible clearly states it to the law of Moses and my Bible is translated from real tongues(hebrew and greek).

Doesn't the moral law point to evil as the forbidden knowledge of good & evil which them to their evil as God mentioned in Genesis 3:11? "And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?"

What difference?
