Okay, so I got this hilarious idea for a new thread after reading a post in the SYM thread.

Where are you from?

And this is not the usual q/a stuff! You gotta read a few posts from one individual member and then decide what country, state, town etc this person is from based on idiomatics, semantics, grammar, non audible accent (can you literally hear the person’s accent just through the words being typed out?)

Ya think it’s possible?

Anywho, ain’t nobody smack around cheatin’ by sidewinding in anybodys about section!😎😁

Alright, Miss Jenny, I'm going to take a crack at it, though I admit I'm "cheating" a bit because I have been reading your posts and have known you for some time. ;)

One of the things I love about you and the way you write is that you take special care to include what I assume is your natural accent in your writing, which I adore.

So while I can't guess the exact Google Earth pinpointed, Yes-I'm-Borderline-Stalking-You-Place that you're from, I am guessing that with your delightful declarations such as, "Y'all ain't nobody smackin," that you are from...

(Drumroll.)

The Great American (USA) South.

And I love it!!! I love that you write in a way that is distinctive and proudly displays your roots.

As a down-home Yankee myself, I have always been fascinated by The South (especially the way they talk -- I LOVE Southern accents,) and wouldn't you know.

A good number of the friends I've made here are from/living in The South (Help! I'm literally surrounded.)

I wouldn't be surprised if I found myself transplanting myself there -- and being teased for all my Yankee-ee-an efforts to fit in. :)

Sometimes it's difficult to distinguish between San Antonio, Texas and Tupelo, Mississippi... ;)

Aww, y’all got it totally wrong.😁

It ain’t about where I’m from, y’all gotta pick one person randomly, or not so randomly, and then analyze said person’s way’s to find out where he or she’s from.😁

I can’t guess where none of y’all are from, but I’m purdy sure Japov ain’t from Texas nor Miss’ippi. From his or hers analysis I’d guess somewhere in The South, except that the comparison of the SA and Tupelo accent makes me wanna cancel his or hers Southern card.😎😀

The people who live in this state have a big ego about it...including me.

I come from the land of horse racing, bluegrass, and fried chicken...

I think that the fried chicken should give it away to almost anyone... worldwide...lol:p

You know you live in Texas when the schools are closed the Monday after the Super Bowl.. It's not because it's Valentine's Day, it really is because of the overrated football game. o_O. My cousin who is a teacher confirmed this.

Roll Tide!

I've lived all over the states, and the most "ego" (not pride) I've ever found was in Boston!
That's interesting. What has been your favorite place to live in so far?

West Coast! SoCal
Yeah', it's way too expensive, and folks are really strange... but there's definitely a reason the "stupidly rich" claim the coastline.

I went to school for a short while in Ft Sam... Great Mexican food! And I love how everything is "spread out" instead of stacked up ;)
