Where are your eyes?
• Pro 17:24 -> “Wisdom is before the face of him that hath understanding; But the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth. ”.
One of the great problems of the humanity is to focus on the world. Why do we value more the world than ourselves? If the world was so good Jesus wouldn’t have given up on it in order to save us. It was in us (who believe in Him) that Jesus put His treasure:
• 2Co 4:7 -> “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us;”.
For this, we need to aim at exactly what we hope that people see in us:
• Heb 12:14 -> “Follow peace with all, and holiness, without which no one shall see the Lord;”.
If we long for contemplating people seeing Jesus in us, we need to put His wisdom, peace and holiness as our target, always going ahead toward His supreme prize for us (Phil 3:13,14).
Otherwise, it can take place with us the same thing that happened to Israel:
• Amo 7:7-9 -> “He made me see this: And behold, the Lord was standing by the plumbline-wall, and a plumbline in His hand. And Jehovah said to me, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A plumbline. Then the Lord said, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of My people Israel. I will not again pass by them any more. And the high places of Isaac shall be wasted, and the holy places of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.”.
You can say: “but I have the right to be happy”. Yes, you have the duty to be joyous. Nonetheless, instead of rejoicing in a thing of nought (Amos 6:13), let your relish be what Jesus wishes to do in the life of people around you through the reflex of His glory in your face (2Cor 3:18) (recalling what took place in the time of Moses – Exodus 34:29,30).
So, don’t wait until the Creator put your “high places” and “holy places” to waste. Do it yourself and have a marvelous day being the holy place where Jesus can manifest Himself to people around you (1Cor 3:16; 6:19; 2Cor 3:16). Stay putting your eyes at Jesus (John 3:14,15; Hebrews 12:1,2).
