Hi all as many of you know i am studying demons and what i feel to be a verry important matter.

I also feel its is one of the most important matters to learn and something i have put my heart soul and effort into my whole life studying, to help people with.

This matter is verry important to me and means a lot to me for many reasons, the most important one being that sharing the knowledge of demons and casting them out was the life time work of Jesus christ.

I also feel that as a result of demons, Jesus christ was crucified and all his deciples killed. Jesus christ was fighting a war on demons, and its one of the reasons he was crucified on the cross a long with others.

I love Jesus,

I dont think this poll question has ever come up here.

I am guessing that you meant to use the word 'permission' rather than 'authority'...?

IMO my answer is yes but because of sin. I look at it this way, the Lord puts a picket fence around us, and when we sin a piece of that fence gets splintered or broken allowing these demons/evil spirits to enter. Death is a result of sin at least in the long term. A lack of knowledge is not an excuse.

And these evil spirits are not angels, but the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim

I believe that "authority" is perhaps not the best word to use. There is a war going on. Satan literally means "adversary".

God gave authority over the earth and creation to Adam. That included Satan. Satan deceived Eve and corrupted Adam. Adam gave his God-given authority to Satan. Satan could rightly form the world system in direct opposition to God's kingdom.

Satan tempted Lord Jesus in the wilderness. We don't know exactly how Satan induced Adam to rebel, but I would not be surprised if Satan showed what could be done if Adam bowed down to him. Lord Jesus refused Satan's temptations. So Satan could not legitimately control Lord Jesus. (1 John 5:19)

Lord Jesus gave His authority to believers. However, authority is of no use if not exercised. So we must use the authority that Lord Jesus secured for us. "Resist the devil" is just as much a command as "love your neighbour".

We know that the church will overcome Satan completely - eventually. One of the great failures of Christianity is in the realm of deliverance ministry. While being obsessed with demons is unhealthy, we ignore them at our spiritual peril.

The Bible clearly states in many places that if you submit yourself to an authority, you're submitted to that authority. So yes demons can oppress Christians who sin. They cannot possess true Christians, we must be clear there is a difference between oppression and possession, and that demons can do the former but not the latter.

It's also important to note that demons are free to harass Christians as well. While not as strong an influence as being oppressed, they don't need our permission to do it.
*
They have open permission to harass.

We thru sin can invite them to oppress.

But we are possessed by God if we are true, and demons have no claim on that.

It seems like demons can oppress Christians who are walking in continual sin. I'm not sure here what the correct word is exactly, but it also seems like demons can be assigned to, or allowed access to, the life of Christians, with certain rules and restrictions in place (presumably so they don't wipe out the human race), for the purpose of allowing the Christian to prove themselves in tests.

This subject isn't thoroughly explained in scripture, but there are some key verses that infer some things. For example, in Job 1 Satan needed to ask God Himself for permission before having His way with Job. God placed some boundaries on the scope of Satan's work. If that was true then, I guess that is true now. The demons are actually just angels who apparently take care of some of the rather unsavory and dirty work.

it depends on whether we walk in Christ or just claim he’s our lord our safety from the devil is when we dwell
In him. Remembering we aren’t promised This world were promised what comes next of we accept Christ and the gospel now.

a point of that is that almost all of the early church was killed in terrible ways but now inhabit glory with Christ !!

Casting out demons was only part of Jesus' ministry, and certainly not the central part. Demons aren't the reason Jesus was crucified.

I suggest you keep on with the homework, but keep things in proper perspective: God is sovereign, and demons shudder at that truth.

I dont want to hurt your fealings, but was Job a christian ?, Did job have the holy spirit residing him in.

Can we truly use Job 1 as authentification that demons have the authority from God to oppress christians, because as far as i am aware nothing unclean can go near the holy spirit. but is it possible that demons see the holy spirit residing in people and that is why christians are oprressed so much by demons.

This is my latest line of studying that christians have the holy spirit residing in them, and as far as i am aware you can not be a christian unless you have the holy spirit residing in you.

I think the purpose of crucifixion is only to redeem mankind and present us holy before God not because of any demon fight.

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen." - 1 Peter 5:8-11 KJV

Demons had nothing to do with the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. He laid down His life. He could commanded a legion of angels to destroy everybody and all the demons.

The war is already won. It is now for us to act on that... we can walk in victory or defeat.

Don't worry, my feelings aren’t hurt even though many have tried. Please just speak frankly and be yourself.

Job was not a Christian, but according to Job 1:1 he was "perfect and upright" something that can't be said of many people, if any, aside from maybe Jesus Christ Himself. Job was of the caliber of being a perfect man of God. King David had the Holy Spirit upon him, at least at some point, so maybe Job did too. I’m not sure if there’s a verse for that.

Can we truly use Job 1 as authentification that demons have the authority from God to oppress christians, because as far as i am aware nothing unclean can go near the holy spirit.
Satan went to heaven, before God’s throne, the Holy Spirit is God, so apparently demons can get near the Holy Spirit.

but is it possible that demons see the holy spirit residing in people and that is why christians are oprressed so much by demons.
I agree with that.

This is my latest line of studying that christians have the holy spirit residing in them, and as far as i am aware you can not be a christian unless you have the holy spirit residing in you.
I agree with that too.

Well if we go into detail the truth is that in some way Job was a christian because job 1 states God had put a protective hedge around him, and at the point of Time Job had a protective hedge around him the demon could not opprress him the way the demon wanted to because the demon said to God you have put a protective hedge around Job, which could mean The demon had allready tried to oppress Job but was there authority there. So was the hedge lowered so that the demon could oppress Job, could you apply the same rule to a christian would the holy spirit have to be temporaly taken away so that the christian can be oppressed on Gods authority. ?

Again i would take the same line of reasoning i have already took with you, I think your probaly stating what your stating here on the bases of God can hand you over to a retrobate mind. but again does that scripture aply to christians who have the holy spirit. ?

I was just about to say the same thing. "Permission" is the correct term. And yes, demons are allowed to oppress Christians, but they cannot possess the children of God.

I think the reprobate mind is what those who reject the gospel get. I don’t think it applies to apostates. That’s what I’m seeing in Romans 1:28

Would it be a demon that God would sends to a christian to avenge sin, ? God could send an avenging angel, possibly

Or shoulnt the holy spirit convict the christian of sin ?. (and not a demon)

Unless im mistaken demons are angels that have rebelled and seperated from God

Ok good train of thought to seperate demons from angels, but are you saying demons are not evil spirits ?.

secondly may i ask do you believe an evil spirit can oppress a christian.
