No, the earth is not flat

Not an airplane, a normal plane. A flat, level surface. If the diagrams I have posted so far are inadequate, follow the link I already posted to the Flat Earth Podcast site. It's where I get this stuff anyways.

Just explain this model the best way you know how, in your own words, without referring to your podcast. You should at least have a working understanding on what you believe? You have read books, spent thousands of hours on this study, so it shouldn't take you more than a few minutes...right?

It's a combination of the perspective (up and down) and the fading out due to the sun moving beyond the distance that its light can push through the atmospheric dust, smog, humidity to reach the viewer.

The sun also changes angular size throughout the course of the day (you can find many time lapse videos of this) and there are also videos of it clearly arcing across the sky - instead of taking a straight path - as it continues on its circuit around the Earth plane.

light doesn't 'push through' dust -- it's scattered by it, in all directions, but keeps going, and not every photon hits a dust particle.
on cloudy days it is still light outside.

yes the sun changes angular size over the course of a day - but opposite what you would expect in FE. the sun is larger near the horizon, at dawn and dusk, instead of smaller.
the standard model predicts exactly this, because the sun's light is being diffracted through more atmosphere - more dust.

and of course it's apparent motion is an arc. the globe is rotating off-axis to the ecliptic.
but again, in your unworkable FE model, the sun should be travelling in a completely different arc - it should never be dipping below 30 degrees from horizontal, and be heading north instead of setting in the west.

and of course the most glaringly obvious issue is the full disc of the sun, larger instead of smaller, half-obscured at sunset over a plain or a lake or ocean as it rises or sets.

God put the sun and moon in the sky for times and seasons. we are supposed to watch them and understand our position in His creation from them. their motions absolutely without controversy utterly debunk FE, and confirm the earth is an orb a great distance from the sun, rotating and orbiting it.

You should read "Kings Dethroned." It's all about the assumptions underlying modern astronomy, especially as regarding the distances of the sun, moon, and stars. Bad math and appeal to authority have resulted in the modern accepted figures. The fact is that we don't know exactly how far any of these bodies are.

i have spent around 13 years studying physics & mathematics in undergraduate and post-graduate levels, and more working in technical analysis roles related to the fields. i have many very well-informed objections to the assumptions in generally accepted science, but none of them make the earth flat.

the sky, which God made explicitly for us to pay attention to, 100% irrevocably overturns every FE argument.

There's only one thing you have to do to convince me, glober.

Give me that full globe Earth HD photograph from space. People have been waiting for that one for decades. It's gonna be a longer wait yet, I guess, because NASA keeps sending crap cameras into space and designing space telescopes that cannot turn around to photograph the Earth.

I see two real pitfalls for the flat earth believers.

1. Don't have a working model of the solar system, or how the sun, and moon work in relation to a flat earth. You already admitted, that team flat earth hasn't had enough time to do this in 8 years.

2. The actual flat earth map that you believe is incorrect. Not gonna debate this one, until point 1 is handled. You got to have the horse, before the cart can be pulled.

Well to me it looks like an egg, the earth being the yolk enveloped in the egg white, water above and beneath the firmament? You will also notice there is a white, thin filament between the egg white and the shell. That could also be the firmament? You can splice it in have though so you can set it on a foundation?

A lot of ancient cultures held to a "cosmic egg" cosmology. From what I can tell, the Bible doesn't tell us the exact shape of the firmament. "Dome" is an interpretation from the portrayal of God spreading out the heavens "like a tent" in the Scriptures, but other shapes can be spread too. It could also be a plane extending in all directions, or something else. The Bible is clear that the Earth is fixed and it does not move... and there are numerous suppressed science experiments which have proven this. Like the "axis of evil" phenomenon.

But I'll say this. If you study NASA and their "work" you can see they are clearly lying to us about something. Based on my observations and studies of Scriptures, I believe it's the shape of the Earth. Maybe it's the location or existence of continents. Or something else.

I have not read into what ancient cultures viewed the earth to be but that was the first thing that came to mind when I saw that image lol. And what is the shape of the Earth? I've looked into the Blue Marble and read articles on how NASA lies, even that the images taken of supposedly in space are really just in a huge pool lol.
