Why do false prophets continue to flourish?

Something's amiss. False prophets continue to make more and more false prophecies. It's very easy to track what they say publicly and compare that with what actually happens. It's no exaggeration to say most of them fail.

So why do they continue to flourish? The only reason has to be there's a market for it. What does this say about the body of Christ? My personal opinion is many people see these false prophets as Christian fortune tellers; and just like other forms of divination and fortune telling people get hooked on it. A common trick fortune tellers use is making their predictions so vague that almost anything can be said to be a fulfillment of it. This gets people more involved and makes them feel like their part of it all. It also gives them an emotional charge, keeping them wanting more.

Unfortunately, many people have exchanged their faith for common fortune telling and fortune tellers. They're both to blame. 2 Timothy 3:13: "But evil men and impostors shall advance worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived."

Jesus said: "Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?"—Luke 18:8

often the wicked world embraces and celebrates false prophets and teachers because they don’t want the truth

the Old Testament fell apart because the prophets began speaking their own words rather than Gods words they led the people astray from God and destroyed thier covenant made it desolate and defiled it

False prophets come from false doctrine


“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

when we read the Bible we’re reading whats as happened , what is happening , and what is going to happen in the future until the end

The words are all going to be fulfilled false prophets prospering in the latter world is certain and was foretold
Often in scripture

it’s happening because God foresaw and then foretold it to warn us not to be deceived by them and stick to the truth of the gospel

there’s a war happening in the world between good and evil and the prize is the living soul of man. We have the gospel to believe and then we have the world seeking to blind us To it by any means necassary

but Gods word v satans has been the issue since The first false doctrine that brought death “ don’t eat the fruit you will die “ …..” no you won’t die it will make you wise like gods “

the same thing will always be God said the truth that will save and keep
Mankind alive and blessed but Satan then tells us the opposite seeking to kill us

it will echoes that way forever through man through prophets sharing Gods re and through false prophets sharing the opposite words

The Lord Jesus Christ already told us that false prophets and false Christ's would abound until the Second Coming of Christ. You have not mentioned false Christs but there have been at least a couple of dozen (or more) since the first century. False prophets -- according to Christ -- are wolves or predators. If the shepherds and sheep dogs had been doing their jobs properly, there would be fewer wolves.

Why do they continue to flourish? Because Jesus said they would

because people continue to believe a lie.

Take heed to this word of Jesus. Do not be deceived by "orthodoxy" or what is popular. Jesus made it clear, the majority IS wrong, not may be wrong, IS wrong.

Shall Jesus find faith on earth at the second advent? We are talking small numbers, now, if everything with a cross on it was Christian, He could easily find faith on earth as there are 2 BILLION professing Christians on the earth. With the ecumenical movement the demoninational lines are getting blurry.

Money, power, fame, money.
Did I mention money?

Oh yes there is a market to it. Many on youtube have thousands of followers and after getting a certain amount of followers on youtube you can make money, it doesn't take much to be successful as a false prophet on youtube many go there seeking things they want to hear or say just pick a topic that is a common search for Christians seeking prophecy speak in a way that seems as if it could be from God and then top it off with cherry picking scripture that fits your agenda it's that simple.

The most common one are those who give encouraging words from God tickling ears promising blessings or fulfillment in life. However people seem to forget that being a prophet is not to be a fortune teller a true prophet may give a prophecy but for the most is used to help guide teach and strengthen his church they are to lead them closer to God if they do not do these things and just give prophecy they are not prophets. Some even give prophecies daily which is an instant red flag as God does not work that way he doesn't give prophecies daily.

But a time is coming when their ministry will be cut short and they will have no solid foundation to stand on that is a prophecy that we will see come to pass because they all false prophets and prophecies eventually fall and when they do they will fall hard.

You mean lies like not keeping the Sabbath earns you the mark of the beast, as taught by false prophet Ellen G. White?

I've concluded, that any Doctrine after the Age of the Church Fathers, who for the most part kept the Apostle's Doctrine, which was the Gospel of Christ, is not a Doctrine from God!

Logic has nothing to do with false beliefs. This is a spiritual battle with truth and lies in constant conflict. Ellen G. White had many sound beliefs mixed up with many unsound, unbiblical, and bizarre ideas. Unfortunately the people in the SDA church did not reject all her false ideas, and accepted everything from her hook-line-and sinker.

Unfortunately the Church Fathers also mixed truth with error. They had many good teachings, but they failed to reject what was unbiblical.

How could the RichMan avoid mentioning money?

It is a sad fact that the false teachers and false prophets have become parasitic. But this is NOT NEW. Peter already brought this matter to our attention: And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. ( 2 Peter 2:3).

She would probably say that a false prophet refuses to talk about money!

Why are so many so gullible when they have bibles to show them the truth?

Speaking of false prophets, I used to think that in Matthew 24, when Jesus talked about "false Christs", that He meant only those who claim to be Him specifically. Sure, they're included, but "false Christ" can also mean anyone who claims to be "anointed" or to "have the anointing".

I recently listened to a video by Lutheran pastor Chris Rosebrough (he has a Youtube channel called "Fighting for the Faith" and a ministry called "Pirate Christian Media"). Rosebrough explained that modern-day "apostles" and "prophets" claim to be "anointed ones", which is what the title "Christ" means. It stands for "anointed one".

Christ Jesus is the Anointed One. And He is right that these "false Christs" come dangerously close to deceiving "even the elect".

False prophets have no genuine testimony for Jesus...

This is a good point. False anointed ones or false saviors. Plenty of "anointed ones" around.
