This is usually how bible prophecy works it has many events that appear similar but are merely foreshadows of what is to come now I could be wrong and perhaps that psalm 83 war did happen but war is on the horizon and it is one of biblical significance

God's word is eternal, and as such one manifestation does not render it moot. It echoes thru time, and that is what lay behind history repeating itself. There's nothing happening in the tribulation that hasn't happened before; what happens in the end is just one final reverberation on a scale never seen before. Thus, the psalm 83 war has happened and will happen again in a much grander form.
