Sitting near me at a restaurant was a family of seven, all ages. They were all so poised and quietly enjoying themselves. I am used to children who are constantly excited, scuffling, and anything but calm. I introduced myself and asked what they did that was different that the children were so poised. They told me it was because they did not allow TV in their homes, never went to movies.

A woman whose education centered on children explained to me that even the programs that are educational for children were based on excitement. She limited even these programs for her children.

As scientist learn more about the human mind, they find that there is some memory from the first days of a child's life. We develop filters as we mature but toddlers haven't developed the filters yet, and some children are not guided and taught. If TV baby sits them, as so often happens, think of the input of some of these programs.
Hm. My 7 kids can sit calmly at a restaurant. We often are complimented on how well behaved they are and we watch cartoons on Netflix and movies a lot.
I'd say it has more to do with discipline and training than t.v.

The true gospel is for everyone to find out if they one of God's elect or one of the nonelect.

If you find out you are one of God's elect, pray to God for everything=God will causes events to happen to answer your prayers.

If you find you are nonelect, forget everything to do with God and enjoy a normal life as you can.

Bottom info is from https://www.gotquestions.org/calvinism.html

Total Depravity - As a result of Adam’s fall, the entire human race is affected; all humanity is dead in trespasses and sins. Man is unable to save himself (Genesis 6:5; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 3:10-18).

Unconditional Election - Because man is dead in sin, he is unable to initiate a response to God; therefore, in eternity past God elected certain people to salvation. Election and predestination are unconditional; they are not based on man’s response (Romans 8:29-30;9:11; Ephesians 1:4-6, 11-12) because man is unable to respond, nor does he want to.

Limited Atonement - Because God determined that certain ones should be saved as a result of God’s unconditional election, He determined that Christ should die for the elect alone. All whom God has elected and for whom Christ died will be saved (Matthew 1:21; John 10:11; 17:9; Acts 20:28; Romans 8:32; Ephesians 5:25).

Irresistible Grace - Those whom God elected He draws to Himself through irresistible grace. God makes man willing to come to Him. When God calls, man responds (John 6:37, 44; 10:16).

Perseverance of the Saints - The precise ones God has elected and drawn to Himself through the Holy Spirit will persevere in faith. None whom God has elected will be lost; they are eternally secure (John 10:27-29; Romans 8:29-30; Ephesians 1:3-14).
No, the true gospel is that Christ died and rose again for sinners.

"...there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." Galations 1:7-8

Please read my 1st post of this forum if you haven't. Also you need to give more explanation than just "No, the true gospel is that Christ died and rose again for sinners."

God causes events to happen to find pieces of information, where I glued them together.
1. After God gave me the Holy Spirit, I found John 14:26-27 and Philippians 4:7. Holy Spirit is the permanent cure to boredom (Proof: John 14:26-27 and Philippians 4:7) but it’s only given to God’s elects. This is supernatural.
Before receiving the Holy Spirit=Not understanding the bible (1 Corinthians 2:14) to After receiving the Holy Spirit=understanding the bible (2 Corinthians 3:14-18)

2. Than I stumble upon Christian videos, websites that each connect to different bible verses.

----------------------------------------------------------

1 John 2:15 King James Version (KJV)

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

There are a bunch of excuses people use just so they can justify their sins.
Sin in Hebrew “Khata” which means to miss the mark. We have and continue to fall short of Gods standard. We cannot do it our own. Paul makes their this clear in Romans chapter 7.

A true believer may sin and it may even be grievous, but God will call His own back and it may even be painful. I just don’t know what conclusion you’re coming to with regards to certain amenities and believes who use them.

A Calvinist. That explains some things, Lol.

When you received the Holy Spirit, was it evidenced by speaking in tongues, or maybe prophetic utterance?

I think you are right, but I also think you are wrong if you think that the things that anyone, especially kids, puts in their minds don't affect their minds and hearts.

Oh, no. I agree we need to be careful what we watch and we guard what our kids are exposed to. For sure.

Why? The gospel is a simple message. Why complicate it? Why are you adding to it?

How true, and at the same time God's kingdom is so deep and involved that we can devote most of our time of a lifetime and still learn every day.

God is the one who gave me the words to write the true gospel.
Well, well. Something new under the sun then? I hope you are quoting a new paraphrase or something. If so, capitalizing the "m" in "me" might help.

Thou shalt not idolize Charlton Heston. He's a reprobate and an imposter, saith the Lord.
I'm not sure who you accuse of idolizing Charlton. I don't think he had any negative intentions either. I think he should have been spanked for running around naked in Planet of the Apes, though. :eek:o_O:rolleyes:

If anyone receives Jesus, coming to Him and calling on His name, they are automatically included in the elect.

And if they have not yet done so, they are not excluded from being of the elect.

Jhn 1:12, But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Jhn 6:37, All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

Rom 10:13, For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

What if the film is about The 10 Commandments?

There were certain theological flaws in that movie.

It purported that the law that was written in stone, is written in the hearts of the Jewish people apart from faith in Jesus Christ, under the Old Covenant.

I had no idea that we "need a break" serving the Lord. I will be asking the church elders about this...
Service to God is to engage in the spiritual war, and no soldier can war non-stop without ever needing sleep, or rest, or to be relieved. It's illogical to assume the spiritual war is any different. Fatigue sets in in the spiritual life as much as in the natural.

I have nothing against him, but I'm starting to realize why "Hated For No Reason" may be somewhat disliked. Statements like "God is the one who gave me the words to write the true gospel"...

Smacks of a Calvinist version of Joseph Smith or something. "No TV, and do as the man of God says, for He hath given me the words of the gospel, yea verily."

One thing that amazes me in these forums are seemingly intelligent believers, quoting a variety of bible verses, with scriptural knowledge, but without kindness or intuition to discern a person's mental stability. I am referring to those, while having moments of lucidity, go off into 'lala' land--please have enough insight to discern my meaning. The word 'grace' is tossed about these forums like rice at a wedding, but so often ends up falling to the ground.
