Hi, all! I'm Aaron from Tucson, Arizona, joining here in part because I like to chat with others, and in part because most friends on Facebook always seem to be busy. I'm newly, forcibly retired following surgery last May ans doctor's orders to stay (literally) off my feet. Diabetic neuropathy took a couple of my toes.

How do you manage to stay off your feet? I also had surgery this past May and was what could be called forcibly retired in mid March of 2020, at the onset of Covid closures. I had just turned sixty five and received a cancer diagnosis immediately preceding the first shut-downs, at which time I was laid off, as the business where I had been working (for 38 years!) was very much affected. I began my radiation and chemo treatments in late April last year, and that ran through until early June, and then I had my first surgery to remove what remained of the tumor, which had already been greatly shrunk. I was then prescribed another six rounds of chemo, two weeks on and one week off, during which time I had quite a few side effects, one of which was fairly severe neuropathy in my feet, the soles of which were at first extremely sensitive, and eventually completely peeled over time. Due to this fact my chemo oncologist cancelled the last two weeks of my chemotherapy, and I was fine with that :D (I am now cancer free :))

Diabetes does run in my family, but I have been fortunate not to suffer that particular affliction. One of my uncles lost both of his feet

Do you have any issues with eating wheat products? I ask because diabetics are at a greater risk of celiac disease than are others.

I guess I am borderline because I have the blood sugar level that says so. There is no pain associated with my neuropathy no cancer that I know of .I have of no pain associated with neuropathy. just numb. no feeling . I am 72 in January . I empathize with the chemo. Something I have vowed I will never do if I get it . I would go with DCA treatments . Talk later got to go. Take Care Aaron.
