Do anybody care to discuss the bible verse do unto others as you would want others to do unto you. Anyone is welcome to give there point of view..
This is what we humans call the Golden rule -----
Matthew 7 CEB---Jesus is speaking here
Asking, seeking, knocking
7 “Ask, and you will receive. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives. Whoever seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door is opened. 9 Who among you will give your children a stone when they ask for bread? 10 Or give them a snake when they ask for fish? 11 If you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask him.
12 Therefore, you should treat people in the same way that you want people to treat you; this is the Law and the Prophets.
Luke 6:27-36 NIV
Love for Enemies
27 “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. 29 If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. 30 Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.
31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.
I say -----This is a hard rule for us Humans to mater in my view -----because our human nature is not really geared to treat others as you want to be treated yourself-----Hard to Bless someone who curses you on your own power with a corrupt nature ----and emotions that basically over take us ----they control us we don't have constant control over our emotions --
The Cain and Able Scripture is a good example -----Cain Killed his brother and when God placed a curse on him and sent him on his way He said his punishment was more than he could bear and that people would kill him -----
So Cain didn't want to be treated the way he treated his brother ------and lucky for Him God showed Cain Mercy ----
Genesis 4:10-14 NIV
The Lord said, “What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground. 11 Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. 12 When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth.”
13 Cain said to the Lord, “My punishment is more than I can bear. 14 Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence;
I will be a restless wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.
I say----- many people believe they can show love to their neighbour which is the second command without taking part in the First command which is to Love God first --------and for me they are just deceiving themselves ----this Love that is needed to do unto others as we would have them do unto us is Agape not Phileo which is brotherly love -----Agape loves the unlovely ---this Love is the fruit of the Spirit --and never fails -----
We should be compelled to help others because of what Jesus did for us -----by helping others we are showing our Agape and Gratitude toward God ---even if they don't do good unto us --we should do good unto them -----
