So when jesus said they will NEVER DIE, he lied?

Why do you want to insist your own works into salvation?
Didn't He say, whosoever believeth in me shall never die?

You know e-g, I have to agree with Laura! You are one of if not the most rudest person I have met online!

Still accusing me of working for my salvation because I disagree with you.

No, he predestined us before time began.

we can’t twist that to mean what it does not mean, he knew who would recieve and who would reject, we have to stop relegating God to time and human flaws

Here is your post I responded to--I do not read only your posts, I am reading all the other posts. You can't blame me for not seeing an earlier post, that's unreasonable--I can't apologize for not responding to something I didn't read.

Further more, I was responding to Charlie and you commented on that. You are the one that was saying I was twisting words.

You said "NO he predestined us before time began"--those are YOUR words.

So I was saying , no we are predestined to be conformed into the image of His son and that His plans will not be thwarted.

In any case, if you feel i've pigeoned holed you as a Calvinist I apologize.

So let's add the next verse.

John 6:40

"And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day."

Who is it that that he will not lose? Everyone which seeth the Son and believeth on Him!

Don't tell me there are none who turn their backs on Christ and forfeit their salvation!

I’m not seeing how those verses indicate one can lose justification. That would mean one can give up their salvation due their own accord. That does match up with God’s nature as revealed to us nor does keep inline with His promises.

Would it be fair to say that a persons name can be blotted out from the book of life? I think a lot of people like the idea of Jesus as a man, kind, compassionate,, and loving. It makes them feel good. I know that a lot don’t accepting Him as God and Lord. As it was said by Jesus Himself:

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day,‘ Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

These are people who were never saved. A false covert so to speak. Judas would a prime example of this. This has been a point or contention for centuries now. I don’t think we will truly understand it in this life.

But that's the problem, the abundant life preachers don't preach the Gospel.

In fact, Joel Osteen is recorded on the Larry King show saying we don't mention the Cross, the Blood, we don't want to offend anyone.

It's not just him, it's everyone of them! The abundant life so-called Gospel is contrary to the Cross of Christ in the way it is preached and purposed today!
I saw JO once and no, he mention those things much.

But his mom sure did!

Ouch?

It's supposed to be funny. I guess I have to s-p-e-l-l it out for you. Instead of typing EG for Eternally Gratefully, I typed ET. Then they started a thread about ET-the character from the 1980's movie, ET? Sheesh.....

I hope that clears that up--it was to Eternally Gratefully in any case, so not sure why you're even responding.
Maybe I should have spelt it differently: oouuchhh.

Many people understand that God in the Bible is an alien ET.
In fact, it's ridiculous and terrible.

One can't say only the King James is preserved without error since it is a translation of the original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts as are many other faithful translations; to state it the only one without error is a false statement and cannot be supported with facts.
Compare other translations to the King James and you will see FACTS! error!. Men corrupting the word of God. as they do the gospel.

I believe that anyone who truly desires to follow Jesus has been elected (or chosen) by God.

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. "My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand. - John 10:27-29 (NKJV)

The saints (Christians) are referred to as “the elect" throughout the epistles. Those who have been predestined will always obey Jesus Christ's call when they hear it. God's GRACE is what saves us. Then we are justified, adopted, and made children of God, and we are transformed into the image of God's only Son, Jesus Christ.

For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. - Romans 8:29-30 (NKJV)

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. - Ephesians 2:8-10 (NKJV)

Is that because you are ignoring the facts, or because you did not acquaint yourself with them? The facts are there for any honest person to see and accept. There is not a single modern bible version or translation that has rejected the corrupt critical texts. Even the New King James Version has been corrupted.

Did he?

John 6: 47 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes [j]in Me has everlasting life. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead.50 This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. 51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

as for being rude

Being rude is accusing someone of things they never said

Being rude is continually insinuating someone believes in a calvinist thinking when they do not

Being rude is someone after they had already been told that you believe we are predestined to be conformed to the image of God. Mocking you, and saying we are predestined to be conformed to the image of God. Then when you show them that is what you believe, they get mad, blame shift and pout, then say their not going to talk to you anymore

As for you. YTou again prove ytou, like her, can;t listen to a word anyone says.

I accuse you of trying to be sanctified by the law. I have not accused you of being justified by the law. I have liked your posts where you claim you believe we are justified by the law. And even commented on them in agreement.

I am not sure what is wrong with you too. But you have serious comprehension issues, You get mad when people try to share with you what they see.

I don;t care if you or her believe what I believe. It has no affect on my eternity.

However, this is a discussion forum, If neither of you to are open to actual discussion where you actually listen to another person who is trying to discuss something with you. Then get mad when they continually try to tell you you are not understanding them

Thats a personal issue on you two

Ezekiel 18:24

"But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die."

The Old Testament folks were saved the same way we are, by faith in Jesus Christ!

Those before the Cross looked forward to the coming Messiah and acknowledged faith in Him through the sacrifice of an innocent animal which represented Christ.

After the Cross we look back to the Messiah who sacrificed Himself for our sins.

The point I am making is that the "righteous" in Ezek. 18:24 is a believer in the Messiah who is saved, but has turned from that righteousness by no longer believing. The righteousness he had came from faith, he now no longer has that faith!

All that he did that was good while he believed is no longer acknowledged by God and he is condemned by no longer having faith.

He lost his salvation by no longer having faith, which gave him the righteousness.

Let’s once again prove how untruthful you are.

This post you are referencing is post # 174, in reference to your post to Charlie post 172.

However. You and I started this discussion in post #135, When you responded to a post I made to Montana (the post where you called me ET.,)

My response to this post was that we were predestined to be conformed to the image of God. a post, I may add, which I see during the night you put a red x on. Its funny how you put a red x on a post you do not even acknlowledge you read. PROVEN by the fact you thought I did nto understand what we were predestined to.

Once again, How can we have a conversation if you keep trying to attribute calvinist thinking to my own? You can’t

Anymore than I can have a conversation with Charlie who keeps attributing my words to him as teaching justification by works of the law. Which I have not.

Jesus said many things in john 6

they would never hunger or thirst
they would live forever
they would never die
they would never be lost
they would be risen on the last day

not once in jesus words did the worse “might” or “maybe” come into the equatrion

He is talking about physical death here. Not spiritual death.

John said a child born of God can’t sin. Because they have been born of God (sin here being in the habitual ongoing sense)

if I child of God can’t sin, how can they fall away

also, john said whoever sins has never known or seen God

so if one sins (habitual ongoing sin ) how can we say they were ever saved, if they never knew God.

Have you changed your mind? Have you really gone back to we can sin ourself out of salvation in affect placing us under law?

So you can’t respond to the post?

You made an accusation I continually say you teach justification by works. Thats a lie

You asked if Jesus really said one who believes will never die. I just showed it

and you mock me,

and use the strawman I am against everyone who disagrees with me?

I am not the one attacking someone because they disagree with me, or mocking them or saying they are saying things they never said, thats you my friend.

By the way, Many people disagree with me, and we are good friends.. So your do not know what your talking about.
