The body of Christ is always being added to (at least until the end of time) as it represents the people who come to salvation. Salvation will be complete after the millennium kingdom.

We are currently in the Church age of the gentiles. Grafted in where for this period of time gentiles are given every opportunity to accept salvation. One day this age of grace will be over and a number only God knows will be the end of this age of the Church. Then the end of the world begins again. God paused the judgement and destruction but it will begin to occur in the 7 years tribulation.
Hi Roughsoul,

I agree that people are able to be saved till the end of time, however God`s purposes for the Body of Christ, for Israel and for the nations, have distinct times.

Okay. I've always seen it the other way, so don't keep us in suspense. What does the "fullness" mean then if not a number?
Hi ResidentAlien,

Oh so kind of you to ask. As I`m in a different time zone then I was not able to answer straight away. Also went out today.

Now to the important scriptures revealing the time for the Body of Christ to be complete, (by the Holy Spirit).

`...when He the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth...` (John 16: 13)

`(when Christ ascended) He gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists and some pastors and teachers for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the Body of Christ, -

TILL WE ALL COME to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect, (complete, mature) man, to the measure of the fullness of Christ;

that we should no longer be children tossed to and fro and carried about by every wind of doctrine by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness by which they lie in wait to deceive,

but, speaking the truth in love may grow up in all things into Him who is the Head - from whom the whole Body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share causes growth of the Body for the edifying of itself in love.` (Eph. 4: 11 - 16)

So we read of `all truth,` and `unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God.`

What do you think that is?

Agree. The age of the church will be mostly gentiles. Then the 7 year trib and millennium kingdom will be mostly Jews.

The fullness of the gentiles refers to the OT prophecies of the gentiles who are part of Gods plan to rule over Jerusalem. That time will Come to an end one day and then as Paul said God will come. Israel will repent if her sin and all Israel will be saved and God himself will rule Jerusalem with Israel at peace in her land and gentiles at peace
In theirs

yep they were in bondage in Babylon then Persia then Greece and they accepted Gods punishment in that they ruled over them. When it came to Rome though they revolted(ad 66-70) and tried to put an end to the Gentiles rule over them because they wanted the times of the Gentile rule to be over(full) but they should have seen the master set over then as "ordained by God" like Paul said instead of trying to revolt against that gentile kingdom God had given power to.

I disagree -

That would make God partial only allowing a certain number of Gentiles to come into the Body of Christ.

This view does not agree with all of God`s word on this topic.

This error is based on a wrong interpretation of a single scripture.

`For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, let you should be wise in your own opinion, that hardening in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.` (Rom. 11: 25)

So what is the truth? What scriptures reveal to us God`s completeness of the Body of Christ?

Marilyn.
it is talking about the veil that will be lifted from Israel in accepting Jesus as the Massiah.

There is nothing God has to do according to His Prophetic time clock concerning the church but Iseal there is much.

What I going to say next is not a "prophecy".

Nor do I think one has to be a prophet to see this but has discernment.

Hi Gideon,

I believe that it is the word of God that we are to obey. People may think such and such but looking at all the scriptures on this topic reveals a different picture. I will write on this in another post.

If we look at the context of Romans 11 we see it concerns the Jews and Gentiles coming into Christ, signified by the root. The `fullness of the Gentiles,` refers to the purpose of the Lord and not a number.
I agree with obeying God's word. I'm not convinced that the scholars are wrong. It is an acceptable interpretation of the word. And really, what does it matter?

Full number if gentiles is a bad translation my friend number should not be added
A whole lot of scholars would disagree with you. That does not make them right, but what level of Greek have you achieved that enables you to dismiss Mounce, Vine and Strong?

Actually there will be those of the nations that go up to Jerusalem to worship the King. (Zech. 14: 16 - 21) So many Gentiles as well as Jews.

Hi CSI,

I see you have not addressed God`s word regarding `till we come to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God...` (Eph. 4: 13)

The Apostle Paul taught the `whole Counsel of God,` (Acts 20: 27), then `savage wolves` false teachers came in and these truths were `lost` over the centuries. However as Jesus said, His Holy Spirit will guide us into ALL truth. Thus we keep looking to the Lord, the Head of His Body to clarify those truths.

Many people died for the truths revealed over the centuries, truths we can take for granted today -

- Salvation, believers baptism in water, infilling of the Holy Spirit, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the ministry gifts of the ascended Lord, the Eternal Purposes through Christ ......

We are nearly there, just some false doctrines to address, so we `are not tossed to and fro and carried about by every wind of doctrine...` (Eph. 4: 14)

Hi again CSI,

I think you are measuring the Lord`s work in the Body of Christ by the condition of the nations, especially the USA. Remember that the whole world system lies under the sway of the evil one. God is not about `fixing up` the world system BUT will JUDGE it.

The Body of Christ, which the Lord has been building over the centuries and across the world, does not have a mandate to `fix` the world system. they are to `do the work of the ministry,` each believer discipling others, encouraging and doing its part as the Lord directs. You will NOT see the finished, completed Body until the Lord brings us all together with Him in the air. (1 Thess. 4: 17)

You seem to be judging all believers by what YOU think the Lord should be doing. You do not know what millions of believers are doing, encouraging, exhorting, helping others in their daily lives, feeding and coming alongside the homeless, the hurting, the wounded, the down trodden, etc etc.

Who are any of us to JUDGE what the LORD is doing!!!!

1. WE will bring in the kingdom.

2. GOD will bring in the kingdom.

Many believers are being deceived into working to fix the world and then think they can present it to the Lord. (as if). However the Lord the head is completing His Body through the knowledge of the truth of Himself and His purposes, (Eph. 4: 13). Miss that and you will fall for the deception.

It is not `what level of Greek you have to know` but what of SCRIPTURE, and all of God`s word on the topic.

the body of Christ is told to preach the gospel to every Creature:). God doesn't remove his holiness at the expense of Grace. God is very capable of doing both very well.

"Blessed in the nation whose God is the Lord, but sin is a reproach to any people. "

Do you know the number of people who will be saved? No. Neither do I. God does. Lord Jesus told us to preach the gospel. From the parable of the sower, we know under what conditions the Word bears fruit. It depends way more on the heart state of the hearer than the preacher. We also know that the "seed" needs watering and then the harvest can be reaped. We also know that it is the Holy Spirit who causes the Word to take root and grow.

I don't know where you get the idea that I'm trying to fix the world. Far from it. The world is beyond fixing.

Christians have the authority and power of the Lord Jesus. When that is exercised, the kingdom of God is there also. Since most who call themselves Christian are not even born again, you see very little kingdom power and authority in reality. So yes, we are responsible for bringing in the Kingdom, but it is not by our might and not by our power. God will decide when enough is enough. On what basis exactly I don't know. Is it when a certain number of Gentiles have been saved? Is it when God says that we've had enough time? Is it when Satan has been resisted until he is cast down? I don't know. And no, it does not matter in practice.

If we get on with the job of preaching the gospel, casting out evil spirits and ministering according to Luke 4:18, then we are doing as Lord Jesus requires. If we are fussing over doctrines that have no bearing on God's kingdom, we risk arguing and being divisive.

You need to remember that the Church is meant to be salt as well as light. Salt is a preservative. The Western church has declined dramatically. What used to be unacceptable even in the world is now normalised. The Church is becoming increasingly irrelevant and marginalised. I've seen the decline over the 50 years that I've been saved.
