Hi guys, Names johnny. Davey.
Am a youth pastor in the ACC movement based here in Australia.
As I intentionally have declined the ability to get paid for my ministering role I also work part-time with Jenny Brown - Counselling and Therapy helping with counselling. It's a very rewarding job and is ministering to people in all sorts of ways. Its emotionally tiring sometimes but is super rewarding and absolutely worth it!
My hobbies include rock climbing, hiking and exploring Gods nature. love it.
My testimony is a long one and involves practically my whole life story the led up to a fine point where I received Jesus. Although I grew up in a Christian household I never really got it and decided to go off and do my own thing. Travelled the world, partied hard and all the rest that goes along with that lifestyle. I soon found myself feeling empty as time went on. Long story short I was invited to church by a friend who didn't nessicerily want to see me saved but was wanting to meet his mum's new boyfriend ( she had been divorced for well over 15 years by that point to my friend's father, but that another story) who regularly attended church. Anyway, he was too afraid to go by himself so he wanted a plus one to come along. I really didn't want to step foot into another church at that point. However, my friend convinced me that he just needed a plus one.
Well, I rocked up and the first thing I noticed was that they were the most friendly bunch of people I had ever met. It got me curious and I began coming on the semi-regular, as not to seem too keen. But as time went on and I began learning for myself how amazing Jesus was, I began to fix my eyes to him...to become infatuated and slowly began being drawn into his loving arms. It was about 6 months later that I officially dedicated my life to Christ and Here I am. 10 years later as the youth pastor for that same church, praise God...There is much more to my testimony but I'll not drag on.
Just thought I would introduce myself and let you all know that I'll be on here regularly enough. Hopefully, we get a chance to chat.
Thanks a heap and God bless!
