I found this post on Facebook and it’s one of the things I struggle with the most. My opinion doesn’t change about Jesus, I believe in Him as my Savior. Can we really do anything we want and it doesn’t matter since Jesus died for our sins? Will His Grace cover everything even if we know it’s wrong but sin anyways? I’m at work and will get back when I can but wanted to read your thoughts.

26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.

I think the key is that you don't Want to do just anything and feel you're covered by grace to sin at will.
So it's, to me, less about "if I am saved I am free to do anything and still be saved" and more about "if I am saved I don't want to justify sin".
Paul discussed this. He sinned, but didn't want to. Whether you believe in OSAS or not the resistance to sin should be evident.

Lemme see if I can find the story and quote.... yep found it (from Philip Yancey's What's so amazing about grace, talking about grace abuse). Yancey's friend comes to him and tells him that he is planning to leave his wife of 15 years, just because he found someone younger and prettier who makes him feel so much more alive. He knows he's about to do something horrible and destructive to his family, but he cares more about getting the girl, so he asks Yancey " Do you think God can forgive something as awful as I'm about to do?" and after much thought about the implications of his answer Yancey replies " Can God forgive you? Of course. ..... Forgiveness is our problem not God's. What we have to go through to commit sin distances us from God - we change in the very act of rebellion - and there is no guarantee we will ever come back. You ask me about forgiveness now, but will you even want it later, especially if it involves repentance? "

Or on a more philosophical level, can you be forgiven for something you don't think was your fault and think you should be excused for?

God MAY forgive an adulterer but his wife and children wont!

When King David comitted adultery he really repented for it at leisure. Lets see, his son with Bathesheba died one day after birth and his older sons turned on him, and he was barred from building the temple.
Oh and Uriah died too.

And later, when Solomon inherited the kingdom it was great at first BUT he later squandered it with hundreds of wives, and then his sons split the kingdom till there was practically nothing left but a sham and a remnant.

Davids descendents inherited the curse of breaking the covenant, until Jesus who had to die for all their sin.

Jesus death wiped out all that sin, but, why would you THEN make all those same mistakes again and commit MORE sin etc knowing that Jesus had to die for it??

That friend must have been c... Er, must have been in that denomination where they can buy "indulgences" to get forgiveness for sins they plan to commit in the near future.

I would hope not to continue in sin. We all are sinners fallen short from Him. It just bugs me to hear it’s ok Gods Grace will cover it as an excuse. Don’t get me wrong, I’m definitely not perfect. It’s the toughest thing for me to fully grasp. Just being real here :)
