Before the Vax, 3 Family members I was around died of Covid. We don't know that is was me, but I handle 95% of public functions.
AFTER the Vax, no one I've been around has died or even had Covid.
Firstly, I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you don't consider yourself to blame for the deaths of your family members. Despite all of the back and forth debate that goes on here, it is the human factor that matters most. I don't think anyone wants to see each other suffer. And I don't think anyone wants to feel that their choices are to blame.
To logically analyze the quoted statement, I'm sure there are many unvaccinated individuals that never experienced family members or anyone they've been around dying from SARS-2. Anecdote and localized history are perhaps not a great standard of evidence to gauge whether a strategy is working. Because based on that limited perspective from that hypothetical unvaccinated individual, they might think their strategy worked better even though realistically it isn't a large enough data pool required to make that conclusion.
It is possible that the vaccine timing was coincidental, and that the most susceptible to fatal infection died, leaving only those that might be mildly symptomatic or entirely asymptomatic. We can't know if we are part of an asymptomatic chain that leads to someone's death. The flu has historically caused millions of deaths over time, and culturally we often observed the caution of not visiting those of fragile health when one shows signs of sickness. I don't think much should change in that regard.
But many of the policies start to swirl around asymptomatic individuals and creating a blame game. We see the finger being specifically pointed at whether one has received vaccinated or not. Not whether someone has a quantifiable immunity as would be determined by a blood tests typically supplemented with other vaccines, just whether they have been injected and have shown obedience to the narrative. Why are we picking fights about asymptomatic individuals at all? Why should vaccination status be the differentiating factor for all of these social controls when they too can be asymptomatic spreaders that "lead to deaths" with just as much transmissibility and infectiousness.
