I am so looking forward to the guy who replies to your post seoul search, he really has no right to presume and insult your intelligence...

...most women are not even thinking of 'status' or whatever it is when they are in a relationship. what is status anyway.

when FB asks for your 'status' some people just put if they are married or single, but most people dont even answer cos its not even relevant

@seoulsearch
I of course have kept up...
And watched the battle from afar and these dorks are battling unarmed while you got one arm tied behind your back.

And the answer you are looking for isn't exactly to the questions you are asking...
It never is...just one of the crazy ways people are wired.

You have dated enough guys for a pattern to develop. And currently you can't seem to find a "decent guy" whom you find attractive or that finds you attractive. (Physically speaking you are very attractive...but don't sweat it. I'm very much taken with my wife and life and have a real fear of change)

Not trying to say anything about anything but just trying to establish facts without drawing a conclusion yet.

So far you have had relationships with men who are challenged morally or with character flaws. (Nothing truly criminal but obviously bad enough that they can't have a successful long term relationship)

And since it takes two people to have a relationship...both parties (including you) are obviously having issues with what you find attractive.
Or what you or they are putting forward that the other one finds attractive.

I'm not saying that you aren't entitled to what it is that you find attractive or that it's wrong...far from it.
I, myself, have some really strange things that I find attractive that most guys don't. And for a lot of years it caused me a LOT of problems. Until I began to analyze it from that particular angle...

What did the "bad ones" find attractive about me that seemed to draw them in?
And
What did I find so attractive about the "bad ones"?

Just saying...if you keep the answers generalized enough and beyond mere activities I believe that you can find exactly what it is that you have been looking for.

Your post didn't upset me, but it DID seem to delve into some very personal realms and seemed to assume an awful lot about me. Let's take a look at the original post you wrote that I responded to eariler and break it down.

1. You wrote: "You dated them... but didn't marry them."

You assumed I didn't marry them (which I addressed in my answer, as I did marry, and he left for someone else.)

2. You wrote: "With these fellows... did you decide to one day drop them?"

This makes it sound like I apparently just casually date guys and drop them on a whim, depending on how I feel on any given day (which again, I addressed in my answer -- I am someone who has only been in long-term relationships or on first dates because I felt there was no chemistry, and I didn't want to waste anyone's time.)

3. You wrote: "With these fellows (kind of makes is sound like there were tons of them - I can assure you that there were not,) what were some of the reasons? Any chance it was status, even if it was subconscious?"

Not only does it seem that you are asking that I somehow have to justify why I would break up with someone, but it also makes seems to imply, "Oh, c'mon Seoul, ARE YOU SURE you didn't break up with them because they didn't have enough money or status to boost your social position? ARE YOU SURE??! Not even on the subconscious level? Hmm?? Hmm??"

In your reply to Lynx, you said that you thought you were "asking a rather Seoulsearch question."

I can tell you that what you asked would not be a "rather Seoulsearch-type question," BUT, I can give an example of what would be.

My approach is to break down your post (which assumes the stereotype that women choose men based on money and status,) flip it around, and ask you the same things centered around the male version of this stereotype -- that men are only out for women they find the most absolutely beautiful and for sex.

So, breaking down your original post again, let's tailor your questions to "the male" side of the coin:

1. These women, "You dated them... but you didn't marry them?"

2. "With these (women)... did you decide to one day drop them? Or did they end it (or maybe they just stop contacting you?"

3. "If you were the one to end it, what were some of the reasons? Any chance it was (because of they weren't beautiful enough to you or had enough sex appeal for you) even if it was subconscious?"

It is also a very Seoulsearch-ian thing to look forward to hearing your answers because I thoroughly answered your questions and feel it's only fair that the other person would be allowed the opportunity to do the same.

I'll be watching for your post -- thanks for taking the time.

P.S. Yes, I know my posts are long and not for the faint of heart. They're for a specific type of poster, though all are welcome to answer, and many just read and answer the title question without reading the background behind it.
Where, oh where is the "munching popcorn while avidly watching for a reply" reaction?

It's know by the jews of old and modern. Idolatry?..Maybe not go's to motive. Still is a braking of the second commandment.,,,,[I realize we are not under the law]
well know kidding most break it, and the words are: No Likeness of any thing not of man not of god nor any kind of animals. No picture of any thing in the air nor under ground not in the sea. Engravien not the key word.
I started researching and writing a counter theology to how we should look at the commandment in context of idol worship, but then I got tired, didn't really think it's worth it, and deleted it out called it a nite. I think you can figure it out for yourself. But today I'll throw out a couple things:

3 “You shall have no other gods before[a] me.(H)
4 “You shall not make for yourself an image(I) in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship(J) them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God,(K) punishing the children for the sin of the parents(L) to the third and fourth generation(M) of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand(N) generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

Deuteronomy 4:23-24 Be careful not to forget the covenant of the LORD your God that he made with you; do not make for yourselves an idol in the form of anything the LORD your God has forbidden. For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

It's about idol worship. That's why God would be jealous.

Leviticus 26:1 “Do not make idols or set up carved images, or sacred pillars, or sculptured stones in your land so you may worship them. I am the LORD your God.

Again it's about worship and idolatry. They made cherubim for the ark and in the inner sanctum. Jesus often made a point about following the spirit of the law, not be wacky on the written words themselves: like rescuing a lamb and healing people on the sabbath.

I agree with you it reads the way it reads, "no likeness". I'm not debating that. I think "graven and likeness" is an example of the real law (have no other gods before me) in the context of the time it was written (that the Israelites lived in and area and time where there was graven idol worship). But you're the one who mentioned not linking and watching a video, indicating you think it's a sin, either for yourself, or for me or others to watch it. You sound unsure of that. And to that I'd also agree, I think it would be an odd interpretation.

I would not believe me so i do not expect you to.That kind of jealous is not a kind jealous. It's more of a abusive husband. Those things are toys and the tools of the ignorant Leah stole one sat on it and told labean? she was having her period,.It does not justified hell fire from him.You shall not make for yourself an image(I) in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. ,,,I'm forgetting but staying consistence, not sure i can say the same for you.,,,,Never the less peace be unto you

It was Rachel who "stole her father's household gods," not Leah. (Gen. 31:19)

Ah, I'm back at home with a proper computer that has a REAL keyboard. So...

That was exactly why that part bugged me, and thank you for elucidating so clearly.

It's like Sculpt was saying, "I know you're going to deny it, but we all know you REALLY dumped them because they didn't have enough money, no matter what you're about to say." Yeah, no, not at all applicable.

Yep, that's how it was interpreted. But not what I wrote. And not what I meant. Darned internet. If only there was some way for me to clarify what I meant, and apologize for the confusion... Oh, wait, I already did. But that's alright, this is good stuff. Pass the popcorn! :p

You can be disingenuous all you want, but it was fairly obvious what you meant.

And you still haven't answered seoulsearch's question.

Now I'm gonna have nightmares about a group of women chasing me. :p
I Know right?
It is a frightening thing being chased by that many women. I got my hands full with my wife. I don't want to ever even think of driving her away.
(And seven women would)

The passage/song actually starts back at 3:1 and continues past the chapter divisions.
But some of that stuff is scarily similar to things happening today in some ways.

Do I need to get my flamethrower out? I can take it from cold to spitting flame in 0:37 flat. I've practiced.
