Exodus 22:2–3 (ESV)
2 If a thief is found breaking in and is struck so that he dies, there shall be no bloodguilt for him, 3 but if the sun has risen on him, there shall be bloodguilt for him. He shall surely pay. If he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.
In the case of unable to see an intruder and in the case of the person having deadly force, there is no problem defending your family.
Jesus also told the disciples to buy swords for protection.

believing in God seems so “enough” right? Why believe in this guy “jesus” or what does that even do for us and how do we know we believe it?
You dont need to believe IN JESUS, you need to believe that his existance was real and it was for the purpose of atoning for our wonderful record of sins as a whole.
You need to believe that prior to “Jesus”
Pleasing God was done from a legal perspective which was difficult and a bar set to high.
You need to believe that this “jesus” fellow was the “new” method set forth by god — new way for him to devinely throw the towel to humanity .
Jesus manages/medians the “elect” via his spirit, once he is in ownership of you there is no longer death for the sins you committed or will commit…only discipline.
When you belong to jesus and his spirit is infused with yours, God goes easy on you, your judgement to sin ratio is heavily altered , your final salvation is granted…
All this is done because God agrees and plans that by giving him to the tutoring of his son… he will make a righteous one out of you and your salvation is granted via election a.k.a Jesus ivy league school….
In this school there is no failure, with this teacher there is no chance that you wont pass…. Its impossible for a human to not walk as directed by such power…
And this walk is done in a loving, take it easy on you form… and by the time he is done with you — you will be from the heart and not from following the law — be A stand up person worthy of gods love.
Jesus is the tutor, the one who guarantees you WILL WALK RIGHT…. You WILL make it… its life made easy.
All for the simple price of sacrificing your naughty desires through trials and perseverance
When the dark side of the heavenly realms attacks you via temptation of bad things… Jesus is there to intercede and increase your spiritual fortitude…
Before jesus it was just human with no heavy duty backup team vs really powerful forces that wreck havoc in a humans mind.
This dudes spirit is in you working overtime combatting and justifying your every work to his father… like a savior — your very own co-signer of life

actually anxiety and fear is a sin, in the Bible its also callled worry
and also...
the fearful, the cowardly and the unbelieving are not going to enter the Kingdom of God. It does say so in Revelation
so...if you dont think its a sin and never repented of it, then...I cant help you. I can pray for you but if you refuse to believe that He can set you free...cos you holding on (again!) then sorry...
