People come and go in our lives, while some of those people we lose, we may feel hesitant or depressed over their absence or how it ended.
Well, to be blunt, Biblical fools are in no short supply. A Biblical fool is defined as someone who disregards God’s Word. God knows the hearts of all people. God can see the future as if it is already the past. Anyone living outside of the Word of God has the potential to influence you. Sometimes that influence may be harmful, while other times, the sin in their heart may lead to an abusive relationship. Only God knows of what could have come if He allowed that individual to stay.
Proverbs 14:7-9
English Standard Version
7 Leave the presence of a fool,
for there, you do not meet words of knowledge.
8 The wisdom of the prudent is to discern his way,
but the folly of fools is deceiving.
9 Fools mock at the guilt offering,
but the upright enjoy acceptance.
God may have intervened to protect you as God knows exactly what we can handle and can not handle. What of God if He does not intervene? Does this make God evil? Does this take away from God's sovereignty? Absolutely not.
2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV
9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
It could be that God knows you are a strong person, and God may not immediately act in the way that you imagine. Sometimes it is out of weakness that we discover we are strong as the Lord empowers us to stand amidst the fire. It is these people that God may work for good with those who love Him. What was meant for evil by Satan is countered by the empowerment of God?
John 16:33 ESV
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
In a world currently ruled by Satan, we will experience tribulations. Satan rules this Earthly Kingdom. Once we became Christ-followers, we gave up our citizenship in exchange for citizenship in a new Kingdom. The Spiritual Kingdom of God. We are now just sojourners (foreigners with a temporary stay). We are essentially homeless as this world is not our home. We live to show the others the way while looking forward to what is to come.
To be welcomed home from a long adventurous journey where our companion, the Holy Spirit helps us achieve victory. On this journey wee will have withstood the schemes of evil, led people into salvation, and mourned over the imprisonment that sin and death have on the unbelievers of this world. It is never easy, but the victory is worth more than life itself.
James 1:2-4 NIV
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds 3because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
God knows every one of us; He knows your name, He knows you better than you know yourself. A trial in our life could be the testing of our faith. God is using what was intended for evil to teach you the deeper truths of faith. The faith that can persevere in all circumstances. For Gideon, it took many trials and the pain of being under the foot of a foreign enemy, for Gideon to become the warrior God needed him to be.
A mature, seasoned warrior is so obvious when compared to a recruit. A mature Christian should be something we all strive to become. Let us not get distracted, fearful, or distraught over immediate circumstances. Keep moving forward as Abraham did in the lands of those where he did not belong. He kept his faith in the promised land that would come. Even though he could not yet see the land of promise, it did come to pass. This is faith. Let us walk in faith. Amen.
