Well, actually the laws are fina and dandy. Just the fact that they are not being applied after article 14 is being violated, or whatever the regulation that affords said protection is called. Cannot really remember, Not been into this in like a year or two, or whenever Mark Levin published his book about the printing press a while back, think it is his second last one. Derilic of duty, neglicence of officials
Politics is big business. Special interest get most politicians elected & reelected. Politicians pay them back with special favors and sell additional influence to whoever is offers to pay for it. All of that at the expense of the American peoples security, freedoms and health.

Yes, that is your game, so it is just something I observe and accept. You cannot change it much. Because you have allowed information to be controlled. So why should I care much about it? And get angry about it? Not good. I wasted much of my life on it, and removed me from my own personal life, neglecting what I should focus on, so was not good for me. So you must fix it yourselves. I try to stay out of US politics, and only do pure legalities now, not truths and your fights to get information set free, sorry. Cannot fight the power and win. I tried, I failed, being canceled dictated outcome, so left politics. Not my thing anymore. But I can be used as a resource for lawstuff, about your constitution and such if you have questions later on. I just do not do specdifics, and fight for you anymore. Like the article 14, that I suspect is wrong, I can go find you some sources on that regulation, so you are informed, but will not opine anymore myself.

And in fractured, broken societies, there is always only one winner: Satan.
If you apply your concept of "fractured" to Christianity, you'll recognize Satan's work as endless "new bibles" and countless "denominations" that all disagree.

You've made my argument for me. This is what I would always hope to avoid. Instead, I would love to have one church where people can have differing opinions but still be in the same building together worshipping Christ. :)

Yes, it is. I was banned from the CovidVaccinated reddit group, and I wasn't even saying anything antivaxx.

Same thing happened to me, apart from it being reddit. Not saying where it was, against TOS to that site to speak of it. I did not have an opinion on the vaccine and getting it or not. Just discussing the legality of mandating it, people have to choose between jobs and vax, etc. Not decided yet either, but did not help the vaccinepro thing, that this happens .

There are no denominations in heaven.
You only find those on earth, were man creates them.

Antivaxx.

The new buzzword for the ill-informed Marxist Gen-Zers who are one day going to hand over the US to the CCP.
I thought they already did hand it over this last January?

Christians themselves have a history of silencing free speech. Nevermind not standing up for others being silenced.
Yes, I agree, but then it's the nominal Christians, pseudo-Christians (who sadly tend to dominate Christendom) who have a history of silencing free speech; history is rife with examples of such apostate Christians. I'm an ex-Catholic and, believe me, I experienced such apostatic Christianity first hand. But true followers of Jesus are the true Christians, and amongst them, double-mindedness, double-standards, deception and the like are not to be found because the Holy Spirit dwells in them. Amen.

Eh. I believe there can be people that fully believe they're doing what's right by trying to silence others.
And the bible showed even those closest to Jesus still revealed traits many modern Christians would say couldn't exist in a Christian.
In fact if we look at Peter we see someone that repeatedly denied Christ, and even became violent and assaulted and disfigured someone In Front of Jesus. Yet Peter was not put down, quite the opposite.
Or we find Paul talking about "I do what I do not want to do".
I find many Christians eager to label others as not Christian because of this notion that "real" Christians shouldn't be doing this and that. In spite of what is said in the Bible.

You must live in a very sheltered world. Why do you think the Bible exhorts Christians not to be double minded if they cannot be? Why does it says, "Don't be deceived" if it is not possible to be deceived? The great apostle Peter was a hypocrite. Did he not have the indwelling Holy Spirit? I suppose that you are perfect in all your ways, since you have such insight into what a real Christian is.

Gen Zers yes. As for the whole other stuff? I don't think if someone doesn't hold (or doesn't care about) a certain political view should be called Marxist... just saying. Marxism is a very hard set, very specific and radical political stance. Just as the alt-right is along with Fascism. I don't think God calls us to polarize nor divide on either side.

Anytime we as Christians allow others to be silenced just because we don't fully agree with them, we become no better than the Marxists we claim to oppose.

Agree, or disagree?
On the subject of free speech we are caught between the devil and the deep blue sea.

Society needs it otherwise we live under a dictatorship as was ably demonstrated with people like Stalin, Lenin, Mao Ze Dong and currently many of the African dictators and as we are to find out the Taliban dictatorship.

So we have to ask ourselves free speech at any price? I believe we have a lot less to be afraid of with free speech than the current situation where the extreme left (neo marxists) want to censor everything that is not extreme left using as their modus operandi the idea of equality, diversity and (add your own idea here).

As they now govern society in western civilization because government has blindly acquiesced to them without finding out what the truth is, so we are under a dictatorship of words which the neo Marxists realised was more effective than guns or prisons.

Of all the isms that are seeking to rule the world, foremost being the homosexual juggernaught, the one thing they are opposed to more than anything and that is the truth. Today, lies are truth and truth are lies.

Jesus said that the truth will set you free. That means lies will put you into bondage and if there ever is a bondage more obvious it is homosexuality. As I spread the good news of Jesus amongst homosexuals on the internet, their responses are totally controlled by lies the biggest lie of all that they are born homosexual.

Today, youg singles are in bondage to sex. As much as you can as often as you can without any thought whatsoever of the consequences of their actions. They are destoying themselves one sexual encounter at a time. I remember one of my senior students telling me that last week he had sex for the frst time and that it was the best day of his life. What he didn't realise it was in fact the worst day of his life as he was giving away his ability to be faithful in marriage as sex just became another hamburger to add to the others and he has been duped into believing that life without sex is not life.

So do we allow free speech rergardless? Yes we do but it comes with a proviso that those who abuse the right to free speech are called out and shown to be what they are. Abusers of society who need to be brought into line. The thing that will govern that is whether what is being said is the truth. if it is not, then anyone who values the truth needs to call them out.

The church is not very good at that as it prefers a don't rock the boat mentality. Live and let live.

As the truth is a core value of the Christian message and we are ambassadors of Christ as Christians we should be defending the truth and exposing the lies of the enemy. Being the father of lies, Satan is the source of all the lies that society is predicated on. Accosting those lies is accosting Satan's right to spread those lies. That will put us in the firing line, which is no problem if we put on the armour of God.

The church by and large prefers to stay in its Sunday morning bunker and bless me clubs during the week. All this serves to do is marganalise the church and make it irrelevant to people's lives. There is a world out there suffering as a result of the neo marxists war on society. It has never needed help so much as it does today. If not the church, who is going to step in and make a difference?

Very definitely. Since free speech is a major threat to tyrannical lies, it is severely under attack right now. Throughout the "free" world.

It all began with the failure to seriously address censorship by the so-called "social media" like Facebook, Twitter, etc as well as Big Tech (Google etc). There should have been extremely severe penalties for censoring free speech, since it is a constitutional guarantee in free countries (or formerly free countries). The Republican politicians -- who are supposed to provide oversight over constitutional guarantees -- were too busy with their own selfish preoccupations, and could not be bothered about things that really matter.

So now anyone who disagrees with the godless Leftist/Marxist/Communist/Anarchist viewpoint is shut out and "cancelled". The only views that all allowed to be publicly aired are those which correspond to those of the lying media and lying politicians and public health officials.

There was a time when only Communist countries and tyrannies such the Soviet Union, China, North Korea, Iran, etc. muzzled their citizens and locked up honest journalists. Today Canada's Liberal scoundrels want to censor even the internet (which is supposed to be a medium for the free circulation of all ideas, good or bad). Fortunately their bill did not go too far this time, but if Communist Trudeau remains in office, the internet will be weaponized for the Leftists.

Christians must be the strongest supporters of free speech. The truth will always win over Satanic and demonic lies. Yet there are several "Christian" forums which censor anything that does not fit into their particular ideology. Many believers have been banned or have removed themselves from these tyrannical forums because they hate the truth.
I fell foul of a forum recently because I am autistic. We call a spade a spade and say what we think with no ulterior motive. Apparently that was not good enough as their ToS said that we have to love eveyone with the same love as Jesus had!!!!! and not use words that others might find offensive.

That is a subjective concept because what one person finds offensive another may ignore. And as the reality of the situation you don't give offence you take it.

They threatend to ban me and I said they can't do that as this was a christian forum and the scripture says to forgive 490 times and as it is a Christian forum they should follow scripture. They didn't like that and said you will do as we say or else. Very christian. Obviously power had gone to their heads and the only authority was not scripture it was theirs. The last straw was when I said if I was a moderator, I would make sure my decisions conformed to the teaching of scripture. That was the final nail in the coffin so I was banned for three months.

If I dare say my daughter is not male, I could be accused of a hate crime for misgendering “her” and using the ”wrong“ pronoun. There is no free speech for a mother of a trans child who believes “gender” is linked to biological sex.
In this crazy world now, people are allowed to identify however they chose. Reality no longer matters.

For example, if I disagree with the Southern Baptist Convention about one of their tenants, should I be barred from speaking to their pastors?

Also, should I be de-platformed on an open forum for having a differing opinion than 99% of the participants?

Please, don't take offense to this, but it's difficult to understand what free speech really means unless you're from the US.

However, even here it's under attack.

So, I am directing my question mostly to a US audience.

Even so, I would hope that other countries could adopt a free-speech paradigm.

However, even nations like the US and Australia are reversing course when it comes to free-speech rights.

And it will be difficult to right the ship once the final nail is in the coffin.
No you do not have to live in the US to understand free speech. Here in Canada we have a Federal Gov that has made it a crime to not call people by their chosen pronoun eg. them, Us, call a trans man she or vise versa etc. Our Gov is so woke it is hard for them to get any sleep.
As Christians we can not say anything that might offend someone for any reason that they decide has offended them.
