What is your position before the wicked?
Is it you who falls before the wicked and their bad deportment, is it the wicked who falls before you in virtue of your violence, or is it the wicked who bows before you for contemplating in you something much better that everything that exists in their life?
• Pro 14:19 -> “The evil bow before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.”.
I know that this promise seems to be utopia. But for what do we wish the fulfillment of this promise? To humble the wicked or so that they can be ashamed of themselves and repent and convert to Jesus?
Nonetheless, did you already thought why we don’t see many of the promises of the Creator being fulfilled in our life?
The above promise, for instance, is addressed to the “good” and “righteous”. It comes the question: are we possible candidates to be favored?
See the promise below:
• Rev 3:9 -> “Behold, I give out of those of the synagogue of Satan, those saying themselves to be Jews and are not, but lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.”.
Are we worthy of Jesus’ love for us?
• Mal 4:3 -> “And you shall trample the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day which I am preparing, says Jehovah of Hosts.”.
Are we amidst those who will trample the wicked or of those who will be trampled by the righteous?
• Mic 7:15-17 -> “According to the days of your coming out of the land of Egypt I will show to him marvelous things. *The nations shall see and be ashamed at all their might*; they shall lay their hand on their mouth; their ears shall be deaf. They shall lick the dust like a snake; they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth. They shall dread Jehovah our God, and shall fear because of You.”.
And what about all the things that Jesus made for us? Here the nations get ashamed seeing all the power that they acquired to subject people. And what about us? Are we dallying on acquiring power to keep the evil at bay? By any chance don’t we have tasted that the Lord is gracious (1Pe 2:3)?
So, how can we hope that the wicked bow before us if we are adopting the same practices? (Rom 2:3). We condemn the others for their turpitude, but we make use of their same methods to get what we pine for or to sort out our predicaments.
So, have a good day constructing your life of goodness and righteousness so that everyone who is tired of their life of sin can bow before everything that Jesus is in your life.
