Do you consider it as reasonably logical that a woman is equivalent to a child?
That question wasn’t for you. He asked if I could imagine God spanking a woman. I can’t picture God spanking a child, so his point is as irrelevant as his ridiculous rebuttals. I don’t think spanking wives is recommended by Scripture New or Old Testament. My point all along has been that considering there is no Mosaic Law against it, and the women being treated more as property than equals, I’m certain it was accepted socially. I made a comment earlier on that some women wouldn’t be as opposed to getting spanked based on the popularity of the 50 shades series. Then dude started in on me being some sort of pedophile and pervert who spanks women out of depravity. All accusations are unfounded and malicious. There…now you’re all caught up.

There are wives who are abusive also, verbally, and those who hit their husbands. Some people think of this sort of thing as a subject for comedy, but it must be difficult for men taught not to hit women, to have a woman hitting him whenever she gets mad. I read a post from a man whose ex-wife would hit him to wake him up in the middle of the night and crazy stuff like that. Even if she is much smaller than he is, it can be a dangerous situation. Men sleep, too, and there are knives in the kitchen. Anyway, my point is it goes both ways.

As far as my 'risks' comments, I made it clear earlier that I was talking about the idea of ultimatums about going to counselors in general, not the abuse topic.

II Peter 3 mentions husbands who do not obey the word, which includes unbelievers.

Why don't you address the actual points made in the post if you are going to reply, instead of obfuscating the issues with comments like this?

If you consider a comment to be rambling, you do not have to reply.

A lot of other subpoints show up in conversations like these. It's how conversations work. Otherwise people would just post 'yes' or 'no' and that would be it.

Can you find one thread on this forum where wives submitting to husbands is mentioned, but husbands loving their wives is not? People read that husbands are to love their wives as Christ loves the church and no one objects. But there are often negative comments and backlash when the subject of wives submitting to husbands is mentioned.

Suggesting someone may beat their wife, children, their dog, is a homosexual, or other stigmatized behavior, is often not appreciated.
And nothing is quoted for what you addressed your comments to. I'm not reading up the thread for it. The forum cuts off imbedded quotes like that. You have to insert them manually.[/QUOTE]

I Peter 2
20 For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God.
(NKJV)

So, do you not think first century slaves enduring persecution in a domestic violence situation was not commendable before God no matter what the Bible says?

What about martyrs? Was what Stephen suffered commendable? Did Peter's death glorify God like the book of John says? What do you think about Jesus dying on the cross?
1 Peter 2
Easy-to-Read Version
The Living Stone and the Holy Nation
2 So then, stop doing anything to hurt others. Don’t lie anymore, and stop trying to fool people. Don’t be jealous or say bad things about others. 2 Like newborn babies hungry for milk, you should want the pure teaching that feeds your spirit. With it you can grow up and be saved. 3 You have already tasted the goodness of the Lord.

4 The Lord Jesus is the living stone.[a] The people of the world decided that they did not want this stone. But he is the one God chose as one of great value. So come to him. 5 You also are like living stones, and God is using you to build a spiritual house. You are to serve God in this house as holy priests, offering him spiritual sacrifices that he will accept because of Jesus Christ. 6 The Scriptures say,

“Look, I have chosen a cornerstone of great value,
and I put that stone in Zion.
Anyone who trusts in him will never be disappointed.”

7 So, that stone brings honor for you who believe. But for those who don’t believe he is

“the stone that the builders refused to accept,
which became the most important stone.”

8 For them he is also

“a stone that makes people stumble,
a rock that makes people fall.”

People stumble because they don’t obey what God says. This is what God planned to happen to those people.

9 But you are his chosen people, the King’s priests. You are a holy nation, people who belong to God. He chose you to tell about the wonderful things he has done. He brought you out of the darkness of sin into his wonderful light.

10 In the past you were not a special people,
but now you are God’s people.
Once you had not received mercy,
but now God has given you his mercy.[c]

Live for God
11 Dear friends, you are like visitors and strangers in this world. So I beg you to keep your lives free from the evil things you want to do, those desires that fight against your true selves. 12 People who don’t believe are living all around you. They may say that you are doing wrong. So live such good lives that they will see the good you do, and they will give glory to God on the day he comes.

Obey Every Human Authority
13 Be willing to serve the people who have authority[d] in this world. Do this for the Lord. Obey the king, the highest authority. 14 And obey the leaders who are sent by the king. They are sent to punish those who do wrong and to praise those who do good. 15 When you do good, you stop ignorant people from saying foolish things about you. This is what God wants. 16 Live like free people, but don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do evil. Live as those who are serving God. 17 Show respect for all people. Love your brothers and sisters in God’s family. Respect God, and honor the king.

The Example of Christ’s Suffering
18 Slaves, be willing to serve your masters. Do this with all respect. You should obey the masters who are good and kind, and you should obey the masters who are bad. 19 One of you might have to suffer even when you have done nothing wrong. If you think of God and bear the pain, this pleases God. 20 But if you are punished for doing wrong, there is no reason to praise you for bearing that punishment. But if you suffer for doing good and you are patient, this pleases God. 21 This is what you were chosen to do. Christ gave you an example to follow. He suffered for you. So you should do the same as he did:

22 “He never sinned,
and he never told a lie.”

23 People insulted him, but he did not insult them back. He suffered, but he did not threaten anyone. No, he let God take care of him. God is the one who judges rightly. 24 Christ carried our sins in his body on the cross. He did this so that we would stop living for sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you were healed. 25 You were like sheep that went the wrong way. But now you have come back to the Shepherd and Protector of your lives.

Is it Biblically permissive to beat one's wife?

NO!

End of story. It's really that simple.

"NO"!
Even if it were biblically permissive what loving husband would beat his wife? In fact, it is not biblically permissive like you have emphatically stated.

for the record, your posts, for the most part, in this thread, are disgusting

masochism is actually referred to as a 'condition', aka aberrant behavior.

some get their jollies in indulging in it and some get their jollies in talking about it and some get their jollies in imagining the looks on the faces of Christians who did not expect to find these posts in a thread that is basically nothing but click bait

here is your 1st post, #17 from this thread:

I’m not writing this from a Biblical perspective but you can’t deny this. Spanking is a huge turn on for some women. It has nothing to do with violence. It’s not like a rage induced beating. It’s a demonstration of dominance and authority. Granted “Fifty Shades of Grey” was a worldly poorly written book series. These books woke up a passion in MANY women. Carnally a woman is sexually driven to a dominant man to reproduce but psychologically driven to a fun man to spend time with. I did my research. More women than you think are ok with, even sexually stimulated by a man who lovingly administers a firm spanking when she admittedly “gets out of line”. Be clear, this is not about an uncontrolled beating. This is a disciplinary spanking. I can’t wait to see the thumbs down and Xs to follow.

you will note where you say I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE THUMBS DOWN AND X'S TO FOLLOW

an amateur psychiatrist will understand you are baiting people and anticipating an outcry for what you wrote. a professional, will understand that you are turned on by what you are posting about
A professional psychiatrist would probably agree with me. Most Christians like demonstrated here want to believe that the Bible states exactly what they think it does. Well, it doesn’t. At no point in scripture are women invited to rebuke men, but there you are casting your false accusations. For the record I find the whole domestic discipline thing to be disgusting, but it exists. I find pornography disgusting, but it exists, I find people who take what is stated as just information and then twist it into some sort of crusade disgusting. I love how you pick and choose what excerpts get replied to, completely out of context. Hopefully you read your Bible with more authenticity. Yes I expect thumbs down on posts that aren’t directly quoted from scripture.

you have created a false narrative and attack those with phantoms you have built. You judge those who are on this site only because we or most do not agree with your assessment. You are suffering from serious memory loss because your issue post was not from a biblical perspective as you stated. You see yourself as intellectually superior.

LOL a little bit of narcissism professional psychiatrist would say. You keep saying "I find" as if you are an authority of sorts we all must kiss your ring. you tell us to read the word of God then in another post-attack those who hold to the Bible, LOL, what a joke.

how do you make your chili? beef pork?
I brown up hamburger, add various spices, diced tomato's, sauteed onlons, green pepper, minced garlic, various types of beans out of a can using the liquid in all of the cans including the diced tomatos. Add tomato juice to thin it out a little. Bring to boil stirring frequently. Add a couple handfuls of macaroni. Let simmer on low heat for about 45 minutes.

nope they would not. sorry the fact I am a woman with a God given brain bothers you so much. I figure God knew what He was doing when He allowed my birth. I figure I am fortunate in that I had a father who always encouraged me in my endeavors and never once said I was limited because I was female.

Sexual Masochism Disorder

Reviewed by Psychology Today Staff
Sexual masochism disorder falls within the category of psychiatric sexual disorders known as paraphilias, which involve recurrent, intense, sexually arousing fantasies, urges, or behaviors that are distressing or disabling and have the potential to cause harm to oneself or others. Sexual masochism refers to engaging in or frequently fantasizing about being beaten, bound, humiliated, or otherwise made to suffer, resulting in sexual satisfaction. If people with this sexual preference also report psychological or social problems as a result, they may be diagnosed with sexual masochism disorder. The types of distress that people with this disorder may experience include severe anxiety, guilt, shame, and obsessive thoughts about engaging in sexual masochism. (If a person has a masochistic sexual interest but experiences no distress and is able to meet other personal goals, then they would not be diagnosed as having a disorder.)
One specific type of sexual masochism is called asphyxiophilia, in which a person receives sexual satisfaction by having their breathing restricted. While some people engage in this practice with partners, others prefer to restrict their breathing while they are alone, and accidental death may happen as a result.
Sexually masochistic behavior is usually evident by early adulthood, and sometimes begins with masochistic or sadistic play during childhood.
Symptoms
To be diagnosed with sexual masochism disorder, according to the DSM-5, a person must experience recurrent and intense sexual arousal from being beaten, humiliated, bound, or from some other form of suffering. These types of urges, fantasies, or behaviors must be present for at least six months and cause clinically significant troubles or difficulty in social, occupational, or other important areas in life.
The extensive use of pornography involving the act of being humiliated, beaten, bound, or otherwise made to suffer is sometimes an associated feature of the disorder.

here again you show who and what you really are. now you falsely appeal to scripture to try and say I am going against God in some way when the entire thread you have quoted from anything but scripture and maintained we are basically like animals lusting after each other and desiring to be abused

your hypocrisy is both funny and sad

Be specific, which assessment do you not agree with? I am judging those who attack my morality on empty assumptions. I am intellectually confident. Perhaps you should examine narcissism before you use it. I’m getting used to your illegitimate labels. I encourage those to read the word of God accurately, not pick and choose verses out of context to slap people with. Obviously you do not like me, and I’m ok with that. I have a feeling you don’t like a lot of people.

I read this whole article and the most fascinating part is that none of it has anything to do with anything i stated. Please use your God given brain to be accurate. Are you telling me that if my wife decided to yell at me and I said, “We will have no more of that.” and a smacked her butt, and she got “tingly”, then that even closely relates to that article. Take a step back…or two. You seem to think I’m the poster boy for domestic violence. All I was saying originally was some women, not all, but some get “tingly” when a man demonstrates his authority as in the scenario given.

Rather, it appears I'd need to wait on you to catch up, considering you believe this behavior is permissible going by the assumption that deviant behavior is 'normal' because it is 'popular' and widespread.

On the contrary I never said it was permissible. I was merely stating the observation that for some spanking/not forcefully beating a wife wouldn’t be considered abuse by her. In future I will keep these observations to myself. Clearly there was only one correct answer in this discussion. It was NO.

I have made plain what I think of what you post and poster boy for anything is not on the list

you took this thread waaay off from the actual op so just quit complaining about the responses you get

hitting for sexual gratification is not the norm. if you read the article, you would know that

whatever. I have less and less expectation to hear anything genuine from you
