The 10-year-old’s effort to go and include this friendless new student made the child feel “better than anything.” The kindness and note were so pure and lovely that thousands of hearts online have been moved to tears by it.

“Crying 😭 So beautiful! My son is on the spectrum (Asperger) and every time he gets a play date or he gets invited to a birthday party, I cry from relief and pure happiness. He has now many friends (so I cry a lot 😂😂😂 from joy). Bravo to your wonderful kid!”

A kid with special needs invited me to her birthday party in her classroom, her mum came in and made a cake which she shared with everyone.

It was a rainbow cake with sprinkles, and everyone sang happy brithday to her.

I learned that she couldnt have a real birthday party at home because none of the kids at school would go to her house :-(

I think kids with learning difficulties who are mainstreamed do get the social benefits of being with others regualrly rather than in separate classes but they can also be subtly ostracised in the main classes. I know because some girls in her class would say to me we dont want to work with xxx or hang round with xxx in the library, where she is also a library monitor.

I think how sad, I always had birthday parties and friends came, but I also had times when nobody wanted to play with me, though I dont remember having a birthday where NOBODY would come. I dont think this girl was mean shes actually very lovable but she can have meltdowns easily, and thats hard for other kids to deal with I suppose.

I gave her a card and a small gift and her mum a special brownie/cookie, and I dont recall any other child at school inviting me to their birthday party! I wouldnt call this kindness 'random' though, its just being kind.

well I dont pay much attention to politics..or try not to

however when thinking of homeless -basically the richer homes, especially the 'extra holiday homes' are empty and have enough space for everyone and the poorer ones are pretty much uninhibitable I think what people really appreciate when they are homeless is warm clothes when it turns cold. Even if you do have a home when you are poor sometimes you cant even afford to heat it.

so, if you have an extra coat hiding in your closet give it away this winter. You dont have to give it directly to the homeless poor though they appreciate it sometimes its not possible, but the salvation army is a good place to give clothes to cos you know homeless people use the sallies.

Dont give it to an antique shop lol. Dont hold on to it if you already have a coat and hardly ever wear it.

Those puffy jackets that look like sleeping bags are good, that have hoodies and pockets.

for food i would give snacks and tinned food (like sardines etc) as homeless people obviously do not have kitchens in which they can make proper meals.

I really do wish people would consider what has caused homelessness its a real problem, and get round to fixing it. Its one thing to complain about urban sprawl, but then you think at least everyone that lives in an urban sprawl has a warm dry home to go to, and they arent slums.

aw
at first I got suspicious when children asked for two prizes or pizzas instead of one at the library but then I realised they were giving them to their friends and siblings and they felt so good to be able to be the giver as they never had much or were given much at home so I try not to be stingy

lol
I had often been accused of being selfish in my family for just wanting my share I guess thats what you get for being in the middle, diminishing returns...or crumbs. So I totally understand
