I just don't care what the Bible says.
I will do my best to take only what I need,
And I will love my neighbor as myself.

And if God wants something different from me...
Then He is my enemy!
Paul,

May I ask you flat-out, because this has come out in your posts before, and more than once.

Are you under the influence of alcohol right now?

Because you are backtracking on everything you've previously said and are not making any sense.

I am NOT asking this to shame or condemn you. I'm asking because maybe you want to step away from the computer and come back and join us when you've had some time to rest, recover, get some water... Take time out for a little self-care and prayer.

Is there something you would like for us to pray for you?

I am praying that God will give you clarity of mind.

There was also an excellent thread going for others here who are suffering through the same struggle -- let me see if I can find the link for you.

Is there anything more to God than that?

I love you.

I saw another post you made a very long time ago here in which you were displaying the same kind of disposition, and then made an out-of-the-blue post asking a female member here to marry you.

I know you've written about the hard times you've had through your divorce. I'm sorry for everything you're going through, Paul, I really am. I hope that you allow God to help you make some positive choices and changes in your life.

got to go to the shop for beer!, be back soon!
I also hope and pray that you have a means of safe and sober transportation.

@PaulNew, here are some threads you might find helpful:

1. https://christianchat.com/miscellaneous/cra-christians-in-recovery-anonymous.184102/

This is an on-going, long-term thread for Christians who are struggling with all kinds of conditions. I've posted in this thread myself about my own disordered eating. The author, @calibob, is a long-time, well-respected member who really cares about the well-being of fellow Christians who are recovering.

Even if you don't post on this thread, just reading it through might help you connect with several other compassionate, supportive members who understand what you're going through.

2. https://christianchat.com/bible-dis...rson-be-a-christin-yet-deny-the-bible.187836/

The title says it all. This is a thread asking whether someone can be a Christian but deny the Bible.

These threads are just a starting place -- I really hope you get the help and support you need.

I doubt that is scriptural-
this is- I believe we have seen this here today-
Do you not yet realize that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then is eliminated? 18But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these things defile a man. 19For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, and slander. 20These are what defile a man, but eating with unwashed hands does not defile him.”

None of you seem to know what following Jesus is.

You all seem to think its reading and learning and studying and thinking and being clever.

But none of that counts for anything.

Bouncing around all over the place, cherry picking verses, sounds like alcohol and/or drugs.

Ahem...

So... RaceBoy... welcome to the forum.

Sorry about all this. o_O

In the meantime... I have a million dollars to spend, what would I do?

Well the government can reduce the worth of my million dollars any time it wants, just by printing out more money. They did it a lot over the last year or so. So if I just hold on to it, eventually it will be worth a lot less than it is now.

The "safest" thing to do, and I put that word in quotes because there is no truly safe thing to do with money, is invest it in a fairly stable large-cap company. Or rather, invest half in large-cap, half in REITs, because generally when one goes down the other will go up. And the value of the companies invested in would rise with inflation.

That doesn't mean I could retire though... a million bucks ain't what it used to be.

This is another separating of His sheep from the enemies goats in how His own will seek Him first for guidance and the rest will lean on their own understanding.

Character carries the gift, not the other way around. A great deal of wealth can be squandered by a person who lacks character, it then is a curse and not a blessing.
