Hi there I'm new to this. I heard people say that some maybe most don't seek God until something tragic happens to them. This is my case something tragic did happen to me, but at the same time something enlightening did too. I'm currently going through a rough time. I wished that I could have been this involved with knowing God and Jesus before this tragedy happened then maybe this tragedy could have been avoided. I hope that things will get better over time though I don't know. What I've learned is that having faith is one of the most difficult things to develop. It's a long process to have faith. I tend to be negative so it's difficult for me to think that things will get better. I hope to learn more with time and that God would be patient and understanding towards me. I pray for better days.

Hello @whitemoth, welcome to CChat! Far more importantly, welcome to the family of God (y)(y) (I see that you are a new believer :))

I'm sorry to hear about that you are struggling right now and, of course, that you have experienced a recent tragedy in your life, but glad (at the same time) that something wonderful occurred for you as well.

As far as your sanctification goes (growing in faith/growing in Christlikeness), the good news is, the very same One who justified & saved you in the first place has promised to continue His mighty work in you, to grow you up in His Son, and to see you safely through the rest of your life here to be with Him in Glory .. e.g. Philippians 1:6; Hebrews 7:25.

Praying for you!

God bless you!! (Numbers 6:24-26)

~Deut

1 Thessalonians 5
23 May the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body
be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.

Nice to meet you and so glad you are joining the fellowship here at CC:) There's a Scripture that says 'Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you encounter trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.… '
You aren't alone, God is refining many of us. When we realize He loves us and we can put our trust in His good intentions for us, we can rest assured 'all things are working together for good'.
Btw I'm for SoCal and I pray God bless and keep you always! Welcome:)

Welcome to CC. Here are people who will be in prayer for you, both to support you during your rough times but also to help you grow in Christian faith. It may not take as long as you now think, He is already at work.

First off I'm truly sorry that your going a tragic time in your life. But I also am very happy that the eyes of your Heart have been opened to having a Relationship with God, through Jesus and with the Help of the Holy Spirit.

The more we do things, the easier it gets. And another way to look at it is this: If God has pursued you and is using this tragic time in your life to breath life back into your soul and have a relationship with you, why would he not be patient with you growing ever closer to him? Has He not already been patient? So let not your Heart be troubled, he is with you now and has always desired to have you want to know He who has always Loved you so very much.

And with that, if you ever want to talk , feel free to reach out and I will respond when I can. And with that, Welcome to Christian Chat🙂.

Thank you very much. I haven't thought of it like that. There is surely more to know.

I'm sure there is. God gives us things as we need them and can receive them. I find that the more I learn and grow, the more I see how much more I have to learn and to grow. Praise be to God's Love and His Grace with us through the process and know what we need and when we need it...and giving it to us.
Hang in there, this too shall pass...🤗

Never forget that Jesus loves you so very much. That is why He did everything He did. You can always trust Him. He has your best interest in mind and wants to get all of us ready for Heaven. Bless you, sis.:):coffee:
