Jesus has never stopped Being the head of HIS Church. Nor has the Gospel message ceased to be preached. The Power of God which is the Gospel message as Paul said still is able to save men and set them free. Jesus said the gates of hell would not prevail, no authority, denomination, council, or pope, past, present, or future will stop God.
The Gospel message that Jesus said would begin in Jerusalem was first preached to the Jews by Peter on the Day of Pentecost and then to the Gentiles and Samaritans afterward. Paul later carried the same message as seen in his statements and actions recorded in his Epistles sent to those who had already received their spiritual rebirth. Always to the Jew first and then to the Gentiles. Many churches today do not even preach the gospel message as stated by those original born again men of God. They carried the message of Jesus' death, burial and resurrection, and stated what was required of EVERYONE in order to receive one's spiritual rebirth. (Luke 24:47, Acts 2:38-42, 8, 10, 19:1-6)

the Gospel is the death burial and resurrection of Christ. there is no disagreement in that. Yet the Read acts 4:33 as one verse and tell me how did they testify that Jesus was not dead what was the confirming factor?

@Rev316 , I have found searching the Scriptures to be a great comfort to me. There is a lot of hope and encouragement in there. John 6:37 has often been a encouragement for me.
Thank you!

I don't know if I have ever with all my heart sought the Lord, so I assume charismatics put in the hard work, and they can hear like Elisha?

I agree, and I think the organized church today should work harder to agree with all Christ teaches. There should be one organized church not many. It is up to us to settle all the wars that are waged on this site into one church.

As an example, if we followed The Way, the argument over the Sabbath would be setteled by by agreeing there is a Sabbath, and some considered meeting to worship on Sunday and some to worship on Saturday, but each would let the other decide in their own heart.

I myself am not charismatic. I think that God often speaks in more quiet ways. I’m sure he can still speak in audible. I believe that when we are led by the Spirit, we follow Jesus example and this will be in line with the fruit of the Spirit. Such as if someone is unkind to you, you demonstrate kindness and patience back instead of having your own two cents. Following the Spirit’s leading will be opposite of what the sin nature wants.

Galatians 5:16-18 ( KJV) says:

“ This I say then, walk by the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lustesh against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. “

I do find the part “ if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law” interesting and would like more input on that verse.

Anytime there is disagreement, there can be potential for arguments. Even in the same denomination, we will not agree on all points. However it is important to be loving one with another and seek to be humble. Pride often breeds quarrels.

My response to Blik was regarding how much the biblical doctrine has been distorted by the traditions of men. People no longer think it necessary to obey what God established as the means of receiving the spiritual rebirth let alone comply with other aspects in the word. The power displayed by the apostles in Acts 4:33, was only possible because they had received the indwelling of the Holy Ghost provided by Jesus as part of the spiritual rebirth process. (John 3:3-5, Acts 2:38-42)

It seems to me arguing is good and the book of Isaiah speaks for it, it is discussing scripture. It is good. But when that discussion becomes war and doing to each other what Jesus explained is the spirit of murdering each other it is not arguing, but sinning.

I agree that discussion is good. Arguing I associate with negative connotations such as fighting or a “ war of words”.

Forty years ago a man named Berne wrote a book called "Games People Play". One game he called "Ain't it Awful" and another he called "I'm better than YOU are". These games are often played on this site, and they are not for the Christian to play.

Yes, that way of thinking is not the mind of Christ.

Almost daily he teaches me many biblical principles. He warns me when I'm out of line. He prepares me for circumstances that I face. He gives me discernment in situations.
He's calms my anxieties. He's told me to be quiet. He's pointed out my faults.
He's taught me to rest in many storms.
What a wonderful gentle friend and guide to have☺☺☺

I can't hear. I think I'm deficient in many ways.

There's been strong impressions but they may be from a fear place or self preservation (spirit of the world IS NOT the SPIRIT OF TRUTH )

What Jesus says 100% is what I'm getting.

Suffering in the flesh is the way.

I want to get out of the world's grasp, just how to keep still and wait, when there is so much to be done ...

How do people know they have received the Holy Spirit?
For those interested you can find a couple of studies Here and Here that you should find helpful...

the Holy Spirit preached the gospel and reminds us of everything Jesus taught in his earthly ministry

“Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:23-26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the Holy Ghost will always speak these words

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:63‬ ‭

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭

“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1:13-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s not about what he will say but what he said and sent out for us to believe

“Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭3:21-22‬ ‭KJV‬

“And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭4:17-19, 21‬ ‭

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.”
‭‭John‬ ‭4:24-26‬ ‭

“He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.

For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:31-36‬ ‭

the Holy Spirit preached the gospel through Christ and brings the same gospel to us it remains the same as then same words will save us

I think the spirit does talk. In different ways with different people. We also though have to be careful. Satan we are told comes as an angel of light., that voice we are hearing we think is the HS may not be.

Thats why as someone mentioned earlier we have to be in the word. There is no other way to discern if something is from God or not that the truth of his word. For is is all we can trust as to be the true words of God inspired

refreshing thankyou
you are welcome the simplicity of all
Scripture is almost to simple to believe

“Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:39‬ ‭KJV‬

The Bible is all About coming to know Jesus the reason he’s so adamant out his own words is because it was this time when he was walking and talking to them

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:45‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets; Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭13:38-41‬ ‭KJV‬‬

he’s made our salvation as simple as coming into the knowledge of Christ and believing

Its amazing what can happen in prayer and when we remind each other just how great God is.
An ecouragement spoken to someone can bring so much peace
And a reminder of just how great our holy spirit of God is can truly pick you up.

The power of the holy spirit is amazing The light of the holy spirit one day will fill every where and all peoples will becomes living jewels and all darkness will be gone.

I once saw an amazing vision befor i came to understand and read all of the word of
God
First i saw a great white light in the sky at night in the form of a white dove it flapped its wings from star to star.

Then i read this scipture afterwards

Luke 3:22 22and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."

I could talk about the holy spirit all day long truly inspiring the wonders of light
is every where to. Gods glory and light is every where from the sky at day to the sky at night. God really is everwhere.
