1 John 1:6-9
New International Version
6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Fellowship depends on each individual walking in the same direction. One can not be both in the light while playing in the dark. Through Jesus Christ, we are purified from our sins and made righteous in the eyes of God.
Galatians 5:16
New International Version
16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
Walk by the Spirit or be led by the Spirit, and you will begin to no longer desire the things of the flesh. We are sensitized to the world, and soon who we once were, is only a shadow of the individual we have become.
1 John 2:6
New International Version
6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.
Jesus lived and walked amongst us to be the way, the truth, and the life. For our life is in Him. If we claim to have life, we claim to know the Son. Without Christ, we only know death.
Romans 13:12
New International Version
12 The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.
Let us put aside the deeds of darkness, walk in the Spirit, abide in the true vine that supplies us with what we need to achieve the will of the Father. We walk in the light, as he is in the light. Our armor becomes more than just habits or wise teachings on fighting against the spiritual forces of darkness. It becomes radiant and powerful just as the face of Moses and Jesus was illuminated due to their proximity to the glory of God. Wear the armor of light, and the powers of darkness can never overcome you. Amen!
