How can you make restitution for copyright theft though? Aside from just deleting your channel. Restitution is good way t restore a good relationship with the people whose content you took where It is possible but I don't see how it is possible here?

It wouldn't be a bad witness it would be a good thing. You can start.again with a new channel and don't need to tell anyone why you deleted it

Confess your sin of copyright theft to God. I have unwittingly committed this particular sin and all I could do was delete content of possible and confess my sins to God. He forgives us when we do that and makes us clean.
Btw, if I do end up deleting my channel what should I do if people at school ask me about it or people online ask me about it?

I think it was the edited version.
They might’ve been referring to the “Well, thanks for looking out for me” and not the post all the way up there at #1 (this message being #23)

Don't answer? Change the subject?
But then what if they’re like, “oh hey why’d you just now change the subject?” 😂
Do you think a response such as “I’d rather not talk about it” could be appropriate?

just say youve updated to a new one. when people ask about the old one. They probably wont ask though.

in future just reference anything you take thats not yours. I think the main thing is using music. I dont know how it works on youtube I do know on radio that they pay a fee or a license to play other peoples songs.

I know for things like photocopying books etc its fair use something like 8% of the total work you are allowed to copy.

I think I at least one project that I’ve temporarily put on hold but had other people help me on, so I think it wouldn’t be the right thing to do to not go through with it or them and work to get the video(s) published right?
@EnglishChick @Lanolin
My concern regarding this and deleting my channel is that if I don’t post the video on the channel I currently have now, I doubt the people who helped me will get as much exposure for if I posted it
on a new channel as opposed to the one I currently have.

Does that make sense?

And after the help I’ve been provided on the project, and given how long I’ve postponed it, it just seems unfair for me to not provide a certain high level of exposure to those who helped me (assuming the people involved still want it) especially for some certain individuals, if that make sense.

It seems I’ve dug myself into a bit of a hole here with this 😅

Hi everyone,
On YouTube
[...]
Perhaps this isn’t enough information to make a good judgement off of,
But what do you guys think I should do?
Not to seem flippant, but I would suggest getting off of YouTube. It is clearly a stronghold of the Adversary.
There are many decent alternatives with less content control.

just to name a few. I have observed several YouTubers who got tired of censorship keep their YT channel merely for advertising their new content on one of their new platforms. You might upolad a 30-second YT teaser with a link in comments to your new DLive content, for example.

youtube closed a video i had uploaded once, saying that an Australian TV show was accusing me of copyright infringement because the video i had used had been aired on an episode of their show.
the video was a royalty-free, public access footage from NASA.
i pointed out to YT that the footage the Aussie show was complaining about wasn't even theirs to begin with, it was NASA's, and it was copyright-free public domain.
YT closed the Aussie TV show's complaint and republished my video :)

YT doesn't go around policing uploads. they have soooo many things being uploaded every day that it's impossible. with the traffic on YT it wouldn't even be possible if you had a 1 week waiting period after you try to upload before it's published -- of course with a 1-week wait YT probably would not be as popular anymore... anyway they react when someone complains, not before. it's the only thing they can do. my video was up for a year before the Aussie show even aired, and then the Aussie show complained. probably because they ran some computer code searching for matches to anything on their show.

point being, no one is going to do anything about your YT uploads unless someone complains and says you ripped them off. if you're worried about that, and you used someone's music, then write to that artist and send them a link to your video. say look i uploaded this because i like your art. i wanted to share it. ask them if they're cool with that and volunteer to take it down if they want you to.
also like previously suggested, put in the description who the music belongs to and was published by - so no one thinks you're trying to pretend it's yours, but the actual artist gets credit. i think you're fine if you do that.

I’m not sure I’ll get off of YouTube, but nonetheless it seems like you’re looking out for me, so thank you very much ☺️

What should I do if I’ve made un-Christlike comments in YouTube comment sections in the past?
