Hi everyone,
On YouTube, I’ve committed copyright infringement at least once.
My videos that are currently set as public are maybe all fine,
and I also have videos that are more suspect that I have either privatized or deleted.
Although, to be honest, I have not thoroughly looked through every single video I’ve ever made.
I have this one private video that I think most likely is a case of copyright infringement.

Concerns I have include but are not limited to

1) restitution
2) If I’m in good standing with YouTube and it’s policies (this seems unfair to put here, but maybe it’s alright to do so, I don’t know)
3) If I deleted my channel, could that possibly be a bad witnessing as a Christian
4) I think I have videos downloaded that I don’t own and I don’t have permission to have had downloaded (Although fair use may apply here for someone or something like that maybe, I think there are cases where I have video(s) downloaded and I’ve used them for things that are case(s) where it’s not fair use. I don’t go and watch the stuff I’ve downloaded for “personal use” like for entertainment or stuff like that though.).
5) Legality

Perhaps this isn’t enough information to make a good judgement off of,
But what do you guys think I should do?

Also, I think I have more cases of copyright infringement (that I’m pretty sure of) on videos of mine that are like probably privatized, and if not that, then deleted

I would just start working your way through, and modifying your videos so that they are not infringing copyright. Copyright is kinda of a nonsense law, anyway. Made for us, but not for them.

Something I forgot to add is I’ve used a third party downloaded to download YouTube videos. I think YouTube doesn’t like this, but in terms of legality, maybe fair use can be applied here in certain cases of mine, I don’t know.

What do you think I should do about videos that I have privatized but have copyright infringement in them?

I have been copyrighted a few times on YouTube because i put music on mine. The issue's usually resolved if you
put in the description that you don't own the content. Usually they give you like 3 strikes before de-monetizing
or just shutting down your account.

Copyrighted as in like copyright claimed?

copyright infringed i think, it might have said claim though. All they did at the time was mute the video
and gave me an option to put some random default music over it though.

Just curious as to why you seem to feel it necessary to keep informing us that you have edited your message?

PS~ it is not in any way necessary to tell us this ;):D

Editing is a good thing, you know :)

It's not like you need to confess it :giggle:

It is not necessary to inform us, ever, or repeatedly.

Editing is allowed up to five minutes after posting to allow for grammar and spelling corrections mostly, I assume, though some make posts and then decide to delete the whole thing... Sometimes editing is to fix formatting errors, or to delete content that was not intended to be in the post, or to add something that was left out. If someone per chance catches/quotes your message before you have made changes to it, you could then clarify that you had edited, to ensure that nobody though ill of the person quoting a message that not longer matches the final. Anyway, I am just curious why you keep telling us that you have edited your message, since it seems redundant to do so. I am not saying it is wrong to do so, but we really don't need to know most of the time :D

This post looks very familiar. Did you copy it from somewhere?
I’m assuming ur referring to the original post up there and not the message ur replying to 😅
But no, I don’t think so.

Could I have posted two threads with the exact same post?
I know who said it. It was spider man! 1619988097749.png
Had you edited the post and not mentioned that you did, no one would have known.

How can you make restitution for copyright theft though? Aside from just deleting your channel. Restitution is good way t restore a good relationship with the people whose content you took where It is possible but I don't see how it is possible here?

It wouldn't be a bad witness it would be a good thing. You can start.again with a new channel and don't need to tell anyone why you deleted it

Confess your sin of copyright theft to God. I have unwittingly committed this particular sin and all I could do was delete content of possible and confess my sins to God. He forgives us when we do that and makes us clean.

I think I at least one project that I’ve temporarily put on hold but had other people help me on, so I think it wouldn’t be the right thing to do to not go through with it or them and work to get the video(s) published right?
