The Jews of today are not the same as the Israelites of old.
Israelites were the chosen people, but they were exiled and then awaited their savior. Their savior came and some of the Judeans became Christians and some became Jews.
The only Jews that follow the original Judaism are a small and silent minority of Jews who follow the Torah only. They are still waiting for their messiah.
Most Jews are Zionists who follow the Torah, Talmud and Kabbalah. They no longer believe the Torah is literal. But they hate Christianity for becoming so popular and many of them are very intolerant to others. They still believe they are God's chosen people and that one day the promises of God will come true.
Many normal every day Zionist Jews are just trying to make a living and don't really know why they follow Zionism. I think they just don't question history or their faith enough. Many of them live secular lives but still feel different because of their history and the holocaust.
True Torah Jews, Zionist Jews and Christians are all forked from the original branch.
And if Christians are correct in their belief that Jesus was the messiah then their branch is the correct one and a continuation of all those old bible stories.
Your definitions are skewed and typical of Christian anti-semitic attitudes.
Zionism was a political expression of the desire of Jews to return to Eretz Israel, the land God originally gave them. Even the Qur'an admits the Jews have a right to the land they now occupy.
And We made the people who were deemed weak to inherit the eastern lands and the western ones which We had blessed; and the good word of your Lord was fulfilled in the children of Israel because they bore up (sufferings) patiently; and We utterly destroyed what Firon (pharaoh) and his people had wrought and what they built.
- Qur’an 7.137
And when Musa (Moses) said to his people: O my people! remember the favor of Allah upon you when He raised prophets among you and made you kings and gave you what He had not given to any other among the nations. O my people! enter the holy land which Allah has prescribed for you and turn not on your backs for then you will turn back losers.
- Our’an 5.20-21
And We said to the Israelites after him: Dwell in the land: and when the promise of the next life shall come to pass, we will bring you both together in judgment.
- Qur’an 17.104
And.surely they purposed to unsettle you from the land that they might expel you from it, and in that case they will not tarry behind you but a little.
- Qur’an 17.76 (prophecy of attempts to remove Jews from Palestine)
According to St. Paul (Romans 2:29) those who accept Christ as their Lord and Savior BECOME JEWS in the eyes of God.
Membership in a church doesn't save anybody! Becoming a Christian is an attitude of religious grouping, not evidence of spiritual regeneration.
According to the Bible, Solomon's idiot son Rehoboam caused a split in the union of the twelve tribes of Israel. Ten of the tribes formed the northern kingdom of Israel and the rest formed the southern kingdom of Judea. From that time forward those who identified with the southern kingdom were called Jews IN THE BIBLE. Read it and learn.
Torah is God's LAW given to Moses. It is also called the
LAW of Grace because its origin is divine. Jesus was a Karaite Jew because He only followed Torah and only taught from it (mostly He quoted Deuteronomy).
Talmud is the law formulated by the Jewish rabbinate during the Babylonian captivity. It is called the
Law of Works because it insists divine approval can be obtained by following its traditions. It is an invention of man, not God.
All the discussions in the epistles of the NT and of Jesus' teaching oppose the Law of Works and those traditions of Mosaic Law that had been perverted into tradition. When an apostle writes negatively about the Law he is usually referring to Talmud/Law of Works.
The original spiritual root is Christ (if one believes the Bible). Branches of the root are either natural (Jews) or believing gentiles (grafted in). In both cases they are of the true vine - a Jewish spiritual organism.
Read the Bible.
With regard to the Jewish faith, it has been said by Jews that one can take from it as much or as little as one likes - tradition notwithstanding. There is a lot more to Judaism than anti-Semitic gentiles imagine. Much of it is godly, if not spiritually regenerate. A teaspoon of understanding is preferable to ignorance.
Christian stupidity is not a virtue.
