Greetings, I'm new and just wanted to say hello 👋

Got saved recently and want to chat and fellowship with like-minded people. I'm not in Montana, the BigSky handle refers to my awe and wonder at Creation when I gaze upon the beautiful night sky. It was this fascination, partly responsible at least, for bringing me to Jesus.

This is wonderful and God's creation absolutely testifies to it's creator.

Are you being discipled yet?

Hello Brother (@BigSky2021), and welcome to CCHat (and, most importantly, welcome to the family of God, as well :)). I'm glad that you decided to make CChat a part of your Christian walk, and I look forward to talking with you/growing in Christ together with you out on the other boards as well (y)

God bless you! (Numbers 6:24-26)

~Deut

1 Thessalonians 5
23 May the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body
be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.

BTW @BigSky2021, here's a teaching series that may interest you. It's called Spiritual Boot Camp, by Dr. John MacArthur. It's something that I listened to about 35 years ago when I finally became a Christian (and I still use some of what I learned for it in my daily walk today).

Spiritual Boot Camp is a 4-part teaching series that takes a close Biblical and practical look at four of our most important Christian spiritual disciplines, How to Study the Bible, How to Pray, How to Function in the Body (fellowship), and How to Witness. It will tell you what you need to know about the 4 disciplines, and it will help you find the best ways to apply them to your life as well (y)

If you'd care to check them out, you can listen to them (and/or read them, I believe) for free,
here (just scroll down a bit when you arrive at the site and you'll see them all together there).

Blessings to you in Christ! (John 10:27-28, Philippians 1:6, 2:13; Hebrews 7:25; Jude 24-25)

~Deut
p.s. - finally (just in case you don't already know) the Lord Jesus tells us that we are saved/receive "eternal life" from Him from the moment that we first believe!

John 5
24 Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, ~has~ eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

I do have a pastor and a church which I have been attending for a few weeks now. I emailed the pastor about attending a Basics class. He called me back and after talking a bit he invited me to take part in an Evangelism class instead. 8 weeks on meets on Wendsdays.

Thank you Deut!

I will definitely be listening to the Spiritual Boot Camp audios. Fits nicely with my routine of listening to podcasts while jogging and working out

You're welcome Brother :) I suppose I should have also mentioned my favorite daily broadcast/webcast called Renewing Your Mind with Dr. R. C. Sproul (and many other theologians and pastors from all around the world who are part of this ministry as "teaching fellows", along with Dr. Sproul, though he is the principle teacher).

You can probably listen to the 30 minute Renewing Your Mind broadcast on your local Christian Radio Station, but I think that it's easier to listen and/or to watch it on the Internet at www.renewingyourmind.org.

~Deut
p.s. - if you are an Amazon Prime member, you may want to go there and do a search in Prime on the word "Sproul", as there are a number of His teaching series and national conference videos that are available in Prime (that can be watched for free there :)).

Romans 12
2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is,
that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

BigSky, I'm glad to hear that you have come to a state of repentance in your life. It was actually partly because of this website I came to a similar place in mine nearly eleven years ago. It's been quite a ride and not a smooth one at that. I too find the night sky very fascinating. I currently work night shift with the military and one thing I regret about living in larger city is that I can no longer see so many stars let alone the milky way galaxy. I grew up on a farm in rural Kansas and I used to get home from Scouts in winter evenings and see the great big Milk Way stretch across the sky right about my house. I've included a picture below someone posted from Kansas and I can attest that it looks a lot like the picture many nights.

It's amazing how large and complex the universe is and how insignificant we are.

Greetings and Welcome, BigSky2021,

When I lived in Havasu, before all of this Covid nonsense started, I was always out in the desert away from the city, taking shots of the Milky Way and star-trail photos. There's a lot of dark sites out there. And it is awesome to just sit out there and take it all in.

Hope to see you out on the forum.

Welcome to CC, my brother!:):coffee: Just looking at your profile. God is very willing to give you blessed assurance right now!:) Just surrender all to the Maker of the big sky. His Son has already paid for your ticket with His very Blood. He loves you very much!

Revelation
3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Supping is what happens at CC!:giggle:
