No individual should be recognized as an enemy in spiritual context. Of course, enemies exist in war, self defense, or acts of evil. But on a spiritual scale we are to love them as God loves us. God doesn't love us because we deserve it. God doesn't love us without reaction to sin. God loves us due to grace and it is God's very nature to love, because God is love.

We love others due to God's grace and mercy on us. We love others even if our reaction to their sin is justified in separation or having them face the consequences. We eventually forgive and give it to God who is the ultimate judge.

Thank you for responding.
No problem. This doesn't negate the victims need for healing or support. If this is you then please receive help and support. If you are the perpetrator of cheating then please know you are not without forgiveness and need to deal with sin for repentance.

Thanks I am the victim and I’m currently reaching out for support and counselling. I have forgiven the individual and feel love and compassion in my heart for him as I know he had his own personal issues that have taken place in his childhood. We’re both going to focus on our healing and restoration through Jesus.

I'm sorry to hear you were hurt in this way but I am thankful you are reaching out for Biblical support. If you have forgiven, feel love, and compassion then you are already a wonderful example of Christ. This type of grace is only imaginable with the power of the Holy Spirit. There is nothing Jesus can not do if we submit to Him! Amen!

Thank you for this reminder. I’m thankful God was able to use me to be an example of love, the love I know He has shown me countless times in my own life. I can only extend the same grace I know the Lord would extend to me although this was very painful for me. It’s just these days people post about others being your Judas or others being your enemy and it confuses me. I always wonder why we don’t focus more on loving individuals back to life, like why now are they my enemy? When they desperately need help themselves.
I just want to do things God’s way but sometimes I wonder if I am being foolish.

You are not foolish in wanting to be a living example of Christ. Jesus responded to the women caught in adultery as you are forgiven, go and sin no more. To go and sin no more involves repentance in the heart. An individual who understands the weight of the sin and in submitting to God they want to overcome the sin in their life. Just remember it is on his behalf to want to heal or repent. So even if you do all that you can and it still seems to cave in, remember even Christ wept over Israel knowing everything that would take place and they still would fail to see the weight of sin and totally miss the gift of grace that came from forgiveness. Jesus wasn't foolish and neither are you.

Thanks, I’m just probably in my feelings today.
He is repentant from what I can see but God truly knows the heart. He is seeking out help for the trauma he has never dealt with, I too have my own issues and insecurities and need to heal and recover so I will take the time out to get professional help, advice, love and care and continue to grow through it all.

Well, you are doing right and above anything you do, give God the most attention. Seek Him for help in all issues and insecurities. Find fellow believers in the body of Christ who will help and walk with you through the healing. We do not do life alone.

no we were just courting/in a relationship (this is also a long distance relationship) 😅
Thanks for the clarification. This is an issue of character. He has revealed his lack thereof. I encourage you to no longer pursue a potential marriage to this person.

Remember that a good tree does not bear bad fruit. I hope you'll take the time to ponder what Jesus meant when he said that statement.
