This was a point brought up in another thread, and I thought it was interesting/valid/relevant enough to start a new thread/topic about it.

Suppose the Savior who died on the cross for our sins came very unexpectedly and knocked on our front door. And... let's just go down that journey of thought for a moment.

Would you let Him in? How would you greet Him?

And if He asked to look around... what would He see? What types of books, movies and games do you have? If He asked why you had a specific item... what explanation would you give?

Honestly... I'm not sure at this point how I would respond. To some extent... I would actually admit that I would have an attitude about some things, maybe I would get a little defensive... or maybe I would even try to pretend it's not really an issue or that it's something that should be ignored, I dunno.

Though I suppose there are some areas where I'd be a little... confused and uncertain. I mean, is Jesus really black-and-white, or are there some areas where He might allow some moderate shades of gray regarding what you have in your house?

My friend's mom had an operation an couldn't clean the house, she prayed to God for strength to clean the house and went to take a nap because of her medication. When she woke up the house was cleaned. She phoned her husband to thank him for cleaning the house and he said to her it wasn't him...

While camping out one summer, one of three, I read the Word and shared it with all who would hear me.

One morning I found my campside surrounded by all sorts of fresh fruit. My site was isolated from others by design.

To this day I have no idea where the fresh fruits camae from, but I certainly did enjoy thme, with thanksgiving of course.

Sure well I dont keep much books in the living room where the front door is they are kept in my bedroom.
There arent any movies except the dvds Ive borrowed from the library. One on Mariah carey, two on trains, one a National Geographic about the Bible and one on gardens.

The only game we have is Scrabble and I'd ask Him to have a game with me it sure would be interesting what words He would come up with....

Otherwise, my families humble abode isnt that much to look at as we havent had new carpet in decades and the one on top of the old one is wearing thin. But thing is its usually the custom to take off our shoes anyway and wear slippers inside. So I would probably offer Him to put his feet up and just say relax while I put the kettle on. He could sit on the couch or at the round table. Usually offer cup of tea for guests. Or water. I dont have fancy coffee but I cant imagine Jesus really needing coffee.

Just be Mary, rather than Martha.

He already knows anyway, so what's the big hubbub?
I can't imagine what one could have in their house that would be so questionable. Unless ya have smut and dope.
Jesus is welcome to come to my house and watch gunsmoke and have a beer with me any day he chooses.

It's the mind I would consider.

What's going on in people's little heads.......even our thoughts are not hidden so who gives a fig newton about the physical stuff

You can have the neatest house with pastor worthy reading material and yet have a mind in the gutter. God looks on the heart.

"Live a life that will make you unafraid to sell your parrot to the town gossip."

if you're not speeding you don't have to worry about any patrol cars that may be on your road. If you don't have any secrets you don't have to worry about anybody discovering them.

i'd ask him if he wanted to walk downtown and get coffee.
the house i live in looks like a house from that show Hoarders.
i'm sure he would understand why i wouldn't want him inside.

Jesus is in my house at the school library lol
I have a little nativity set and Ive got baby Jesus living in the fairy house one of the gardeners made for me.
The whole family is sitting outside the front door including the camels and sheep beside some giant flowers.
I recently planted some hyacinth bulbs in water beside them. They decided to move out of the stable they were in, it was too small and noisy....and a bit smelly

I heard Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra once talking about how it would be if Billy Graham was seated on the couch ...

Now that is an odd dream.

When I was a tyke, I thought of these two as "corny." One of the good things ab out growing up is coming to appreciate both of these fellows.

I would definitely welcome Jesus into my house! And would make him feel welcome straight away. What would he find? All sorts of things.
Books, drawing utensils, the everyday stuff such as cutlery... I guess the bad things would be books and movies with violence in it. I mean, Attack on Titan and movies such as Warriors wouldn't be good to show...

I'd make Jesus his favourite food!

I'd be really interested if he would like my pets!

Jesus has already seen my house. Why would I change anything if He came in through the door?
