You can go to the top rt corner, tap the envelope next to your icon and tap, start a new conversion.
Thanks.

I did what you said, but, apparently, I need a paid subscription to send private messages.

I might not be hanging around this forum for too long (I haven't even been here a week yet, and I can see how time consuming and fruitless conversations in the BDF can be), so I think that I'll hold off on that for now.

Thanks, again.

I didn't think so you need a paid prescription and I even tried paying but they don't want my money lol, That's a first. I tried it before I was directed to this chat

Quick question...

Is it possible to send another forum member a private message?

I see where you can post on somebody's profile page (at least I think that I do...lol), but wouldn't that be read by others who click on their profile as well?

Anybody know?

Thanks.
I have seen others ask a person if they can directly message them (if that person has that ability to) and if they do, you can respond to their message back and fro.

The other member is new as well, so they probably aren't a paid member either.

It's not that I really have anything secretive that I want to say to them.

Rather, I simply wanted to offer spiritual help if they wanted it because their profile lists their spiritual status as "unsure".

I'm not too sure that making such an offer publicly would be okay.

I wouldn't want to unintentionally embarrass them (even though there's nothing to be embarrassed about) or, even worse, possibly offend them.

On the other hand, I wouldn't want to miss the opportunity to possibly help them because I genuinely care about people, so I don't know what I'll do.

Until I figure out what to do, maybe I'll just have another piece of key lime pie.

I've been craving one FOR YEARS, and I found one at the supermarket today.

I already had a slice and a half, and it almost moved me to tears...lol.

It's the best, in my estimation, but everybody has their own preferred tastes.

To make matters worse (actually better), I washed it down with some nice, cold lemonade, so I had that whole lemon-lime thing working.

That's it...I'm having another piece right now...lol.

Im an apple pie nut myself
I'm normally not a pie eater.

Usually just some pumpkin pie around Thanksgiving, and that's about it.

Apple pie is good.

What I REALLY like (hint...hint...everybody) is lemon cupcakes with coconut frosting.

I might commit a crime to get one of those...lol.

Anybody here try locusts and wild honey yet...a la John the Baptist...lol.

Do fried grasshoppers and from the hive honey count? The wee grasshoppers sautéed in butter n brown sugar come out sweet and crunchy. Just have to be sure to pinch off the 'baccer part of the wee hopper......

Your doing something wrong. You do not need a "paid subscription" to send Private Messages...... Maybe a Post Count minimum, but no monetary requirement is placed on PM's.

As for the BDF, it is only ONE Forum Page here. There are numerous others where conversations go on all the time with no problems. The BDF itself is one where you have to be "selective" as to which Thread you decide to dive into. As well, once you have been here long enough to figure out which of the Members are the troublesome ones, you learn to avoid their comments.

You can express an opinion, and IF someone gives you grief over it, you DO NOT have to respond to them. Just ignore their comment and move on.

Do not fault Christian Chat for a few argumentative Members. Learn which Members will respectfully discuss issues/ideas with you and which won't.

You can also always use the IGNORE option to avoid even seeing the comments of certain Members you are having problems with. Takes a whole lot of the stress out of the experience here.

FYI:

The Private Message option we had on the old style Site has been changed to "Start a Conversation." It still operates the same though. And you DO NOT have to pay anything to use it.........

Click on the Members Screen Name (top left of their comment) and look for the box that says Start a Conversation. Type in a Subject and then your message then scroll down a wee bit and click on the box that says Start Conversation. These boxes are a light blue color.

That's it. The Member will get your message and it shows up at the top left of the Forum Page where your wee Picture and an envelope and bell and magnifying glass are. There will be a number there that represents how many a person has had sent to them.
