Is it worth fighting for what you're fighting for?
• “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, whither thou goest.” (Ecc 9:10).
Many people are used to spending time acquiring things or ken that they never will use. I own up that I have spent time learning things in order that, in the future, I can make sites, videos, books or games about the Holy Scripture (in Portuguese and English).
Nevertheless, I question myself about the importance of this. After all, if I die now, what's going to be worth all this effort? After all, as it is said in the Holy Scripture:
• “This is the day which Jehovah has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psa 118:24).
What we need to think is: How useful is being my life TODAY? Specially because we don’t know if tomorrow will exist to us. Do you recall how Jesus conclude the parable?
• “But God said to him, Fool! This night your soul shall be required of you, then whose shall be those things which you have prepared? So is he who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.” (Luke 12:20,21).
So, one thing is for sure: what we acquire won’t be useful in Sheol (world of the dead). The only thing that we take with us is the remembrances of what we did here. So, what are we fulfilling the movie of our life with? With many stuff that hasn’t any profit for us (only occupy the place of Jesus and people in our life) or with many good works (like Dorcas – Acts 9:36)?
Have a good week putting everything that you have and are to Jesus’ service in behalf of His Body.
