Is It ok for a Christian to be against abortion but for the death penalty?
I know a lot of people would say "oh, but babies are innocent, but these people are not".
But there are two problems with that statement.
First off... human judgment has its pitfalls. Too many a time an innocent person was convicted of something they didn't commit. Even one case is too many. So that's one problem.
Secondly... If treating people depended on whether we think them to be good or evil, then we're no better than those people, they also rendered evil to whom they didn't like and did good things for whom they liked or for themselves. God gives rain to the good and bad, if we apply discrimination in how we treat others then I think we're just being people, favoring whom we consider our own and being hostile to the rest, so that makes us not much different than those appointed to die.

Murder is the Unlawful killing of another human being no matter where they reside.

Deuteronomy 27:25
“‘Cursed be anyone who takes a bribe to shed innocent blood.’

Psalm 127 says
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.

Proverbs 24:11-12
Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work.

But when it comes to law and order, that is an entirely different matter.

Romans 13
3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, 4 for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoers.

God does not expect the law to permit a child to be put to death for the sins of its parents. But we must be held accountable on earth for our actions for the sake of protecting others.

This is a matter of law and order, not murder, if the law states the death penalty is necessary (for anything God doesn’t command) then we need to obey as unto the Lord or expect to face the consequences.

Inconceivable to imagine comparing the lawful execution of an unrepentant murderer or child abuser or rapist etc, with legalising slaughtering a child in the womb and making itS life of less value than someone’s infected tonsel’s or a rotten tooth!

One is done to protect the innocent and the other to pacify the guilty and slaughter the jnnocent.

Ezekiel 18 says ...
The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.

Today is Martin Luther King day. May all who love the family in Jesus-Yeshua, and all who will be blessed by what he has contributed to mankind be blessed.

As per the family truly being together, along with him, I have a dream.

The robins have returned. My yard was full of them this morning. It's a great reminder that spring is on it's way, and the circle of life goes on.

ah yes, the precious robins - we live in Florida and we are yearly pleased with so many alighting in our
back yard -there is (1) robin in particular that always visits our property for a few days, we say this because
he always comes into very close proximity to our garden, while we are gardening, he just hangs out with us...
it's really very special and sweet...
