Hi, I'm Brian, From northern Illinois in the USA. I am going through a painful event in my life and I have found comfort and peace in Jesus. My favorite prayer the first night I was dealing with this pain was Luke 22:42 Abba, if you are willing, take this cup away from me: still not my will, but yours be done. I prayed that over and over to God all night when I couldn't sleep. I had some relief knowing that Jesus knew and trusted his Father to do what was best for Him, even though it would cause Him immense pain and suffering. He was scared like I was. I feel like sometimes it takes that overwhelmingly painful event to awaken us to seek Him and follow Him more fully. I have neglected my spiritual life and it had led me to a sad depressed state, now I getting better and I want to help and encourage as many people as I can to seek out God.

I am here to learn and make friends and continue on my journey in life as a good and faithful Christian.

First off, Praise be to Almight God for allowing you not only to see the truth in all going on, but to Bless you to turn to He whom Loves us like no other. So true about hard times. We can turn to him and become stronger in Him because we are Blessed to do so.

I pray, knowing he will, that God will continue to help you to lean into him and be your Deliverer, Strenght, Comfort, Joy, Rock and all other Good things to you. May he Grant You Peace....that surpasses ALL understanding.
In Jesus's name I pray this in All things, Amen.
Welcome to Christian Chat🙏

Thank you so much for your testimony. We shall overcome. That is His promise. Welcome to CC, Brian.

Revelation
3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Things have been a bit of a struggle for me too Brian. I take comfort and peace in Jesus too but at times this is fleeting. I have asked the Father more than once to take a cup away from me too,. but as Jesus said to the Father "Let your will be done". Your estimate on overwhelming painful events can lead to an awakening to seek and follow him is right on target. Glad to have you as part of our community. Welcome to CC.

Welcome to the forums Brian. So sorry to hear you have been going through some stuff, but sometimes that’s what needs to happen in order to find Christ and cling to him. I’ve been there and done that and wrote the book myself. going through challenges and trials is what makes us who we are.

But I’m so happy that you have joined us and are ready to help others in need, that shows what a sweet And compassionate heart you have and are hungry for Christ.

God Bless you.. 💕☕️😊
