What we have here are diffrent stages of growth. Others have studied what the Lord has placed on there hearts in depth.
I'm no fan of theology or idealisim as some may know.
We are all diffrent and used according to the potter. I think that God likes to challenges us in some respects to give us growth in the word and knowledge in him. We must be more of a berean and less of a you tube junkie.
I like the idea of personal growth. To grow in the Lord is to take on the love that is of God.

As I study of the ways of the early church called "The Way", it was the love shown to each other that caused the church to grow. We have years and years of growth in the church today that they didn't have, yet our church today is known for not showing love for each other. At the same time our church is also known for its acceptance of sinners that they didn't have. I haven't been able to understand how this could be, I hope someone could explain it to me.

Imo..the church is asleep right now. It needs to repent and get back to its first love.
It has allowed many false doctrine, idealisim, and theology to creep in to its main stream.
That is why you do not see the gifts of the spirit working mightly today.
It has become fearful of confrontation and its focus has been upon quantity instead of quality.
We are guilty of many atrocities which we have aided in history in the past.
Bringing a quenching of the Holy Spirit.
I included myself in this judgement and ask God to lift this quenching from the saints.
New age thinking has done its damage and left the church as non effect.
We need to repent and ask forgiveness only then will you see revival.

You are expressing what my study of scripture has taught me. My eyes were opened to what I was adding to scripture when it was brought to my attention that God is eternal, that all scripture agrees with all other scripture. Christ made things new, but Christ did not change the attributes of the Father, God is the same from Genesis to Revelation.

I agree with this. Do you think that people who reject adherence to the OT law disagree with it?

I think the law of the Lord is a complicated subject that most people get entirely mixed up. When Moses was given commands for the training of the wild Hebrews that spent the 40 years in the desert in order to help them understand and obey the law, then later gave us the holy spirit to use for that so those commands were of no use any more it really mixed people up. To top it off, there is no scripture telling us what commands God considers of no use to us any more and most people just throw anything in those that Jews made into their customs--the whole lot. No one really knows what the Lord wants us to do about them all, they know for sure fleshly circumcision and diet control was part of it for scripture tells them so. Now, Christians use what other Christians think about it in order to judge and accuse.

Isn’t the world watching us do what scripture said we should? You can’t just take everyone’s word that what they say is true..can you?

Jude‬ ‭1:3-4‬ ‭
Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints. For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

We do know what the Lord wants us to do, and that is to live by the law of love, which does not preclude judging others, because a spiritual person judges everything. The point is to judge rightly, which many have trouble with, especially hypocrites, who say nobody should judge them even though they themselves judge others. As to the world watching this behavior, they too engage on the same level, showing their own hypocrisy by complaining that Christians think they are better than non-believers, while many of the same non-believers vaunt themselves above believers in a multitude of ways, saying we believe in fairy tales and are brainwashed and incapable of thinking for ourselves, as if we only believe because we were told to, but then they turn around and want to tell us what we should believe instead, because they believe themselves to be more logical and more rational and more intelligent than believers.

Okay,I am hypocrisy.:cautious:

Let's take the theory of evolution. All the fossils showing the animals were made first before human. The Bible told us The same.

Maybe most Christians reject evolution, including me, but I think Maybe we didn't come up with good idea,The reason is that we reject evolution.

Not all Christians reject evolution. It is the matter of origin that is the real issue, there,
since a non-believer by necessity and definition rejects the idea of God as primal cause.

I once asked a number of non-believers: IF God exists, is it possible that He
would know what is best for us? Not one of them answered in the affirmative.

I already know what they think, and why ;)

I am not interested in discussing evolution with anyone, really.

The main focus in my talking to non-believers is, and was, to encourage them them to seek truth.

Most people will say why I can't see God.
but I don't know what you already know.
We know non-believers do not know God. And we know why, also, since we were all natural-born enemies of God at one time.

That knowledge should lend some depth to your understanding of their position on the matter.

Non-believers being a natural-born enemy of God and hostile to Him makes many of them them hostile toward religion in general (claiming it -and not human nature- is the cause of all human misery and suffering), and Christianity in particular, saying it is the main offender, because despite their hue and cry of promoting tolerance, they cannot tolerate Christian beliefs, even while they will embrace Islam as a religion of peace LOL, though it was spread by the sword from its inception, and the explicit verses (more than a hundred in the Quran) instructing adherents to kill those who do not accept their beliefs, and the head of their beliefs, who was a war mongering adulterous pedophile. Even someone as revered by the masses as Oprah claims the name of Christian while denying what Jesus said about there being one way to the Father, and that being through Him and Him alone.

@Magenta - you are absolutely correct! It’s all about LOVE......knowing God loves us because He sent His Son/Word to save us.......then, us loving God in response to His great love for us.......then, loving others as we love ourselves.....

We must stay in our “first love” keeping God first in all things.....our thoughts, words, actions......eating God’s Word and drinking the life-giving water of God’s Holy Spirit.......maturing in the knowledge, understanding, wisdom and love of God, amen.(y)

Sometimes we need to inspire other people's thinking, things can not be solved at once. you put a seed in their mind and heart, god will let it grow.

come on, to kill those who do not accept their beliefs is a false doctrine in the Quran.

my city around me has a lot of Muslim

There are by some counts 109 verses in the Quran instructing adherents to kill, not just
unbelievers and people of "the book" (Jews and Christians) but also those who depart the faith.

I always remember the story in Mark about how Jesus encountered the wealth young man who addressed Jesus as "Good teacher," and Jesus- for all his perfection- nonetheless replied, "Why do you call me good? No one is good- except God alone." He then told the young man that if he wanted to inherit eternal life, he had to sell all of his possessions and follow Christ, but the young man refused and went home sad, to which Jesus told his disciples, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!"

Jesus also said in Matthew 10:34: "... I have not come to bring peace, but a sword." Again, he repeats in Luke 12:51 "Did you think I came to bring peace? No, I tell you, but division!" He then went onto say that he would turn fathers and sons against each other, mothers against daughters, etc.

Jesus and Christendom in general are not all about love. We follow the King of Kings, and the path to heaven isn't an easy one, so every so often, we have to expect disagreement and that it's not always going to be gentle. I think modern day political correctness has confused people into thinking Jesus is some hippy flashing the peace sign who's all about love and rainbows or something, but even while he walked the earth as man, he was resolute and uncompromising about what was right and righteous. The same should be expected of those who follow him. Whether or not the pill is always easy to swallow is irrelevant.

verses 109. Many of the People of the Scripture long to make you disbelievers after your belief, through envy on their own account, after the truth hath become manifest unto them. Forgive and be indulgent (toward them) until Allah give command. Lo! Allah is Able to do all thing

Also, you must not kill innocent people, Allah will not hold you innocent, I can't remember which verses .
That's what it means.

Sorry to discuss the Koran here

That's what what means? One verse does not magically cancel out 109 others, or the weight of their history in following the mandates Mohammed laid down under the deluded guise of Divine revelation. Then again we have people like the pope who kiss the Koran
