Because she's not a subscriber she can't utilize the site email system unless a subscriber starts a conversation with her. You wouldn't be aware of the change because long term users were grandfathered in when we changed the setup.

I might be wrong about this, and if I am, I hope someone will correct me and give us the most up-to-date answer.

Even if a subscribing member does contact you (a non-subscribing member,) it does not activate all subscriber privileges for the non-subscriber.

The non-subscriber can only make PM replies to the subscribing person who initiates a PM exchange; the non-subscriber cannot then go on to PM whomever they want like a subscribing member can.

However, I could be wrong about this.

I'm hoping @Oncefallen or whoever knows about this can clarify.

Thank you to whomever can answer this! :)

That's correct. Only responses are available to non-paying members. Starting PMs is not possible if non-paying.

Your assumption is correct.

RoboOp? Is he like the wizzard of oz where one must go on a long, long journey in order to contact him and get a response?

Waiting...waiting...waiting😴
Robo is the owner of this site :)

If someone were to PM you and include him, you could converse that way :)

Do you and @Tararose still need someone to do that for you?

Well I tried it a few more times and it still didn’t work, so yes - as we still have no way to contact him ourselves.

It is all a bit strange, I know it’s a big site And lots of people... but the owner is the only paid person on the site, according to the info I was given when I enquired about how the finances of the site work - and he also seems to be the only one who can help with many of these issues.

I really do appreciate we can all use this site for free, and that it must take some maintaining. It is no light task, but perhaps someone (That the owner takes notice of) could suggest some of the volunteer moderators etc be more hands on and also be allowed to deal with Issues that arise . It makes sense surely if he is not really on, here much, or able to keep track/help with the problems as they arise.

Just my 2 cents worth.

@Magenta did that work? Seems like if you wanted to pm for another member you could do a conversation to Robo OP and include them in the conversation itself as between multiple members.

I mean I haven't ever had a reason to start group PM yet but if I do it'd be nice to know it works fine with non-paying members if someone wanted to do a bible study or something. If 2 non-members were invited to a group message they could see the paying members posts (who initiated) but not each others? Seems like that restriction wouldn't apply once a conversation has been started.
