It's actually quite historical. (Back in school, I had a certain fascination with the Black Plague and found it intriguing to read about.)

Hi Intresting link you sent...and I get the historical dynamic.
It just that seeing such a mask in these modern times would most definitely get my attention..it kinda like seeing a guy wearing a medieval codpiece on the beach on a cold day.....though it may serve the purpose to which it had been made....would still make me chuckle given the modern context of evolved fashion...🤣🤣

not sure how you would date if you are in lockdown and cant go out anywhere.
But now we know.

though, who is providing the dinner? does the one paying the bill order it in? Or will they deliever it and just drop it at the doorstep? Might have to be pizza as I dont think many restaurants deliver.

looks like a bird ..
That would be accurate yes. It is the same style of mask worn by plague doctors during the Bubonic Plague in Europe (or at least assumed, classically speaking).

my goodness.....yes I would definitely chuckle if I saw you walking towards me wearing this bird looking mask..😊
That is certainly the idea. It's to get people who encounter me to be less fearful of COVID and to help use humor to deal with all the stress and strain and fear, and hostility against people who disagree with the existing narrative (not the facts, but rather the conclusion, context, and narrative).

I actually went out with the guys the other night and asked the doorman if that was a mask I could wear and he just laughed and said "hey, it's covering your face, it counts!"

why arent more people wearing funny/scary masks like they do for halloween which is the big thing in USA, you would think people would enjoy dressing up and doing the Michael Jackson thing.

Its no big deal here, most people have made their own, floral, checked, striped etc. The other day I saw a lady wear a really nice crocheted one that matched her outfit.

Well people here actually do. Masks have sort of become the new tshirt. Different prints, words and such, but really a lot of it falls into the two camps of "how dare you demand I wear a mask, it's my body my choice?" (ironically this is actually conservatives holding this position) and "omg HOW DARE YOU NOT WEAR A MASK! YOU ARE KILLING GRANDMA IF YOU DO NOT!" (because someone might get sick from you and their grandma might get sick therefore if she dies they consider you a murderer. Despite that they do not use this logic during cold or flu season, which is much more lethal to the elderly. Besides, we have Governor Coumo who shoved a bunch of covid sick people into elderly care facilities with healthy elderly people. And yet no one talks about that. Go figure).

I'm in the "No, I'm not giving into your demands" camp. I refuse to accept the conditioning. So while I cannot get away with NOT wearing a mask in some stores, I instead do it in a mocking way.

But that's a whole debate for another day or time. I'm sure there's a few maskers who have read that post and their blood boiled and feel the need to educate my ignorant mind, to which I'm simply going to state: Don't bother. I won't read it.

My main issue is the PR around all of this plandemic garbage has made people fearful of each other, and so gripped by fear they hand their power over to our authorities willingly for "peace and safety" while feeling justified in attacking and shaming those who do not go with it.

So how do I date someone during the pandemic? Same way I would if people were acting sanely and not gripped by fear. Because any woman willing to go along with all this is someone that would become an achilles' heel to me, instead of someone standing with me.

They only have the power over you that you allow them to.

This is how it works... the guy orders (and pays for) flowers and dinner from her favourite restaurant. Flowers are delivered to her around 7pm and dinner delivered at 7:30. You get on a zoom call (or similar) and have a nice meal together (start by saying grace of course). As a guy you can eat just about anything (cold pizza or hot dogs). The important thing is that she has a nice meal. After dinner you spend some time doing a simple bible study together and enjoying some other conversation. Or you could just ignore all this virus nonsense and do the whole thing at your place.

*taps forehead* i like your ingenuity here. When I dealt with distance relationships my girl and I would just nab whatever we had handy (she was in the UK, I was in the US) light a few candles and maybe dress nice, eat, then watch netflix or play some online games together.

I took a break from dating. I'm too busy to really focus on anything at this point. If I connect with someone, then great. I was casually dating a guy for about, 5 months, during the pandemic and it was fine. We were never official and we never got serious. We still did activities, but wore masks and still socially distanced from others.

Have you read Ken Follett's Pillars of the Earth, and its sequel, World Without End?

They were each turned into a mini series as well, which were very true to the books, since KF had a hand in the making of them. He is an excellent researcher and author... anyways, in the sequel, which was a long read (as was its predecessor), it starting dragging just a tad until the plague broke out near the middle of the tome. Then the story really picked up and got much more interesting again :giggle: If you have not read or seen either, I highly recommend them :D

Well it is all part of the socialist globalist world order plan. get people to willingly give up their rights, which a large part has done. and the other part of the plan is population control, so more that die the better. more old people die that is less resource drain on the state.

Also look at the insane lock down garbage, they are forcing the virus to mutate for its survival, one of these mutations could end up a "super bug" which instead of "killing grandma" it kills little 8 year old timmy. (This is what happened with the spanish flu 1918) thus lots of young people die creating a 21 century lost generation.

Add in the economic issues we are going to have for the next 50 years. for those who don't understand it yet, we are in depression, and this depression is going to be worse then 1930. (real unemployment rate in US is apx 40-60%) 40 Million are waiting for eviction.

Now add in this "vaccine" with the people involved in that my guess it will cause people to go sterile. (so if you want kids, I would stay far away from that wuflu vax) and who knows what other things are in it.

If people were smart, they would have questioned this entire scamdemic from the start, but sadly most people are just stupid and will get into the boxcar that will take them to the camp where they will willingly walk into the strange shower room to be gassed. never questioning anything.

I know dating online is for some people and maybe not for others like mee....lol. I just don't trust the process even during the pandemic (which I am hoping and praying will come to an end soon (by faith) ;)). It is so easy now to steal other people's photos and claim to be someone you aren't. So much scamming. Also it doesn't feel as organic as meeting someone for the first time in person because since it is an online dating service the expectation of knowing you are going to meet new people is already there...therefore taking away the spontaneity. Also I have tried various dating apps and it can be pricey (which I never did fork out the money for lol). Especially apps like match.com, but again I am not putting down online dating during a pandemic. I guess what I am just trying to say is..... "how I would I go about dating someone new during the pandemic.?...well....I wouldn't" LOL.
