The problem of sin

When were our sins paid for? Was it at the cross or the moment we believed?

Were all sins paid for ,or only our past sins ?

Sin is transgression of the law ,did Jesus take away the law at the cross ?

Did God pour out his wrath due to us ,on Jesus ?

Did we recieve Christ's righteousness when we believed

Which verses support these questions?.

All the sins of the whole world were paid for at the cross, when God poured out his wrath on Jesus at the cross, because the penalty for sun is death. But Jesus is judged as righteous and death could not hold him. How we enter into this righteousness of Jesus is by faith, not that faith is the leverage we use but is the vessel by which God delivers us into this judgement. By faith we enter into his death in baptism, by faith we are entered into the righteousness of Jesus.

I think i agree , but I'm not sure if your referring to water baptism or The Holy Spirit baptism.?

Hello @throughfaith, if it is someone's past sins alone (the sins that he/she committed prior to coming to saving faith in Christ) that are forgiven by the Lord's death on the Cross, then on what basis are all the rest of their sins (sins committed ~after~ coming to saving faith) forgiven (cf Hebrews 10:10; 1 Peter 3:18)

The PENALTY for ALL sins was paid at the cross in full. But the efficacy of that atonement applies only to those who obey the Gospel.

No, the Lord Jesus fulfilled the Law on our behalf, both on the Cross, and by the life that He lived in perfect obedience before His Father (when He lived among us), the perfect, sinless life that we were supposed to live before Him .. cf Romans 5:10.

Yes, as there is no other basis for our being declared righteous and just by God .. e.g. 2 Corinthians 5:21.

I have no idea why you want to remove water. It's clear in scripture that the Apostles were baptising with water. Philip and the Ethiopian, and the Samarians, and in the case of the language is clear.
who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit, for he had not yet fallen on any of them, but they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Baptised in the name of Jesus is with water. Receiving the Holy Spirit is something altogether different.

Just a little side note for thought, Philip, being full of the Holy Spirit, a sent evangelist was traveling, and preaching, and was making disciples, but not conferring the Holy Spirit. Peter and John did that.

Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John, who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit, for he had not yet fallen on any of them, but they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. When Jesus died on the cross, He paid for every sin that you and I and the rest of the human race will ever commit, from Adam’s first sin until the very last sin that will be committed on this planet.

But that doesn’t mean that God forgives our sins before we commit them.

That is not taught anywhere in the Bible, and when the Lord says that He forgives us and remembers our sins no more, He’s speaking of the sins we have committed at the time He forgives us

Hello throughfaith, just for clarity's sake, by "we", you mean those (and those alone) who have come to saving faith in Christ, yes

Also, by "today", you mean that His atoning work on the Cross is the sole basis for God's merciful and gracious choice to forgive...

Jesus fulfilled the law, and thereby concluded the law. Except the law written on our hearts, not with handwriting, but written by the Holy Spirit.
