Just got into some Bible reading with mama and I found something interesting. We all know I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, but it had us look at the verses before that.

Philippians 4:10-13
“But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity. Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Interesting that I never noticed in a sense...it was talking about Paul being able to handle all things. Not just being able to do something, but to like...be content in all stages. Be the same in all stages. I notice I as a person have a tendency to rely way too much on the circumstances to change my mood/attitude so yeah...sobering but also hopeful.

Thanks for reminding us of these passages. Some of us are in terrible circumstances that we can't change, so learning how to be content in extreme need is difficult.
