Feast Of Tabernacles begins the evening of Fri, Oct 2 & ends the evening of Fri, Oct 9

This festival goes by a number of other names:

Feast of Tabernacles, Feast of Booths, Sukkot (Hebrew for booths), Feast of Ingathering, Feast of the Nations, Autumn of Life, The Season of Our Joy!

The Feast of Tabernacles takes place 5 days after the Day of Atonement, on the 15th day of the Hebrew month Tishri

Tabernacles/Sukkot is 1 of 3 "pilgrimage festivals" (Lev 23). Every native born male Jew (20 yrs & up) had to travel to Jerusalem for this 8 day festival. Also, his was the time when they brought their tithes & offerings to the Temple (Deut 16:16).

Feast of Tabernacles/Sukkot celebrates the gathering of the harvest (late Sept to mid Oct) of summer fruits of trees, like olives, pomegranates, figs, dates, citrons etc. Solomon’s Temple was dedicated to the Lord (1 Kings 8:2). Ezra proclaim the Word of God (Neh 8). The time a daily water-drawing ceremony - Pool of Siloam. A shadow of Christ pouring out His Holy Spirit (Isa 12:3, Joel 2:28-29, Jn 7:37-39, Acts 2:4)

During this 8 day festival the Israelites would DWELL in booths or TABERNACLES, made from the branches of trees (Lev 23:40–42). John 1:14 He became flesh & DWELT = (TABERNACLED) among us!

A harvest time of joy & celebration of God’s continued provisions & protection during the 40 years in the Sinai wilderness. One year for every day they disobeyed God's order to take the promise land. Also, a reminder to all generations, of the Lords delivering from Egyptian slavery & a foreshadow of the coming Messiah's works.

During the 40 yr wilderness experience, the Presence of God dwelt in their midst. He covered them daily with His cloud & at night warmed them with His fiery presence & all needs were taken care of. Neither their shoes nor their clothes wore out (Deut 29:5)

The Feast of Tabernacles also looks forward to the 1000 year Messianic Kingdom when Jesus will be dwelling in & ruling from Jerusalem.

Zec. 14:
16 It shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem. Shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts. To keep the Feast of tabernacles.
(NOTE: It will come to pass = millennium kingdom & all nations will be required to come to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts)

17 It shall be, that who will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain”

John 7:37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
(NOTE: The vs 37 words: "In the last day". Means that this event occurred on the last day (day 8) of the Feast of Tabernacles. Day 8 also means: A New Beginning. Jesus began His earthly ministry during day 8 of Feast of tabernacles (vs 37). Christ rose/was glorified on the 8th day & brought in new a spiritual beginning. On the last Feast day 8, at the end of Christ's 1000 yr millennium kingdom reign. Our Great God & Savior, who rested on day 7 of His creation. On day 8 will once again begin to create anew.

Thank you my friend :) interesting stuff. The first four feast days were fulfilled when Yeshua came the first time. Now we are waiting for Him to fulfill the last three.

YHVH plan is awesome.

I have to ask, how do you know so much about this? Are you Jewish?

Hello Happy,

In the physical I'm from Irish descent. Having said that, as a believer I've been spiritually (via Christ's gift of His indwelling Holy Spirit) grafted into Israel. (Rom 11:11-24).

Many years ago I used to watch a a Jewish convert's (Zola Levitt) weekly TV show. I purchased a shofar from his ministry. And he sent me (for free) a book called the 7 Feasts of Israel.

Next to God's word maybe the best book I've ever read. The world lost a great preacher in 2006 when he went to be with the Lord.

Hi Flying Dove. Wow very interesting. What do you gain from Messianic Teachings personally? What is it that drives you to learn more about Judaism?

Christ has always been my focus, not Judaism. Although all scripture is written for us, not all scripture is written to us.

The feasts are a physical shadow of the spiritual reality to come. The OT physical agricultural harvests are a picture of the coming spiritual soul harvests.

OT physical agricultural harvests: Passover barley, Pentecost wheat (the main/largest) & Tabernacles grapes/olives/pomegranates/figs (end gathering)

1 Cor 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

Matthew 27:
52And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

53And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
(NOTE: I'm guessing OT Patriarchs are resurrected here & taken with Jesus Acts 1:9-12)

Act the first post resurrection Pentecost 3000 souls are harvested (Acts 2:41) Many souls have been spiritually harvested since. And one day the final end gathering soul harvest will come to pass.

You have a fair understanding of G-d's Word that is above the norm. Very good. Yes it is true, that many passages point to Jesus no doubt, but every passage has multiple layers and multiple meanings. The very first verse Gen 1:1 can be a lifetime study on its own if you possess such a degree of wisdom. I always encourage people to actually read key verses in the Tanakh that point to how "perfect" G-d's Word is, like Psalm 19:8-12. Take a moment to dwell on the exact meanings of that verse and that alone will show you just how complex the Tanakh is.

The reason I ask my question is because you are correct, as Paul states Jews bring spiritual gifts and Non Jews bring physical ones. You are right in who is graphed into who. Hence, why study the Tanakh and its secrets? What is your goal or mission? I am fascinated but what you know :) Very good!
